When I was in high school, my cousin built model cars...........some really cool looking ones, at that! He had shelves of them on a wall in his bedroom. I got into it a little, but not nearly like he did. But, then again, he didn't have to take care of livestock after school and on weekends, like I did. Today, I have a model of the first U.S. Navy ship I was on. Have started working on it, but still have a ways to go. Some years ago, we found a model of a Corsair F4U-4 that my wife's deceased son had, but never put together. I will put it together sometime in the future. Also have a U.S. Navy FA-18 Super Hornet that I will assemble sometime. Have gone to Fairs and seen this extraordinary train layouts. Very impressive as well as the OP's is.
my late dad loved model trains. he put the tracks, station everything on a large piece of plywood. the entire thing folded up inside the wall with a sliding door. you never knew it was there. he and i played with it for hours when I was a kid. the trains were made by Lionel. which came with little white pills. drop one down the stack and instant smoke.
