Busted! Nice work Trump campaign https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cn...speech/index.html?client=ms-android-motorola# http://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/07/2...php/23257-The-copycat-speech-of-Melania-Trump!
That's it? That's all they got to point out? I bet a day don't go by that we all don't think or say something that someone else thought or said.
I have seen a part of that news report in CNN today. The news anchor and the reporter are talking about that speech by Mrs. Trump although the issue was not really clear to me except the caption that Mrs. Trump said she wrote the speech with a little help only. I wonder why that speech is similar - I still have to see both speeches though - so more likely the writer had copied from the original. We cannot discount the probability of coincidence but as they say, what a coincidence, huh.
Both speeches are in the NYT link; it shows the passages that were copied word for word. To shrug it off as "oh shucks, we all say things others have said" is gross oversimplification.
She's not the only one that does it. http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/19/politics/politicians-plagiarism/index.html
ignore it. just rants from the left media; they had to pick on someone. its their job to be Osama's lap dogs
Sheeple will buy anything. The success of this campaign is based on two types of control: ctrl c & ctrl V
Oh geez, first of all, those are things that would be in a speech of that type. It's been used many times I'm sure, about the values, morals etc. You think Miss Michelle made her's up?? Not likely, check it out. I wouldn't waste my time. You're right Gary, just the left groping for any shred of smut they can sling.
Nice catch Chrissy, I knew this was true, but thanks so much for the link. Those that are against Trump will go to any length to derail him. That just tells me the "other side" isn't doing so well.
LOL, this part was the best: BONUS. Barack Obama, 2008. Hillary Clinton 2008 campaign spokesman Howard Wolfson said President Barack Obama had "lifted rhetoric" from Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick. "If your whole candidacy is about words, then they should be your own words," then-Sen. Clinton said about Obama at the time. "That's what I think." Obama admitted that he used some of Deval's words at a Jefferson-Jackson dinner in Wisconsin. "Deval and I do trade ideas all the time, and you know he's occasionally used lines of mine," Obama said. "I would add I've noticed on occasion Sen. Clinton has used words of mine as well," Obama added. "As I said before, I really don't think this is too big of a deal." CNN's Eugene Scott contributed to this report.
It's really nitpicking. If anyone's to blame it's her staff. They have software that you can run something through And it will pick up anything that's not your own words. High Schools use it all the time in English classes. A little harder now days to write a report. You better make sure you footnote all your sources. Sadly this is only the beginning of a lot of ugly things that will be said about her, considering she's younger and sexy looking and was a model. Some of it has already been in the media but I'm sure it's going to get worse once the campaigning starts.
Hey Arlene! Thanks for the thread, I would have never known how many speeches draw from what others have said or written It only makes sense to me though since, again, I don't see how it would be possible "not" to find something in a speech that hasn't been said before.
