    Thank you Brittany and Lucy.
Ken, they need a bit of help with maintaining their coats. The big one especially, she is fat and a bit lazy. The mother one does a good job herself. She is always bringing up hairballs. I wonder if I could find a food that would help with that.

My parents wouldn't allow me any pets because they didn't want any critters in the house. So what happened? My little snot brother grew up, got married and they bought a small dog. Turned out, they couldn't keep it where they lived, so they gave it to dad who kept it in the house. I was robbed.

I'm now 75 and live in an apartment building. Could have a pet if I was inclined to pay a deposit and look after it, which I no longer am.

My parents did not allow any animals in the house, either, although we had dogs and cats, and I kept my pony in the barn out back.
The only animal that I kept in the house was my hampster; but it would have been pretty hard to keep one of those outside.
It escaped one night, made it clear into my dad's room and climbed up on his bed. The hampster woke him up when it tried to walk across his face.
He said that he thought it was a mouse, and was about to fling it across the room, when he realized that it was probably my hampster, and he didn't want to hurt it.
After I grew up and got married, we always had animals, many of them in the house, including my daughter's hampster.
Now, we just have Chipper and Tootsie, the two little dogs, and they are plenty to take care of.

I grew up with dogs but don't have any now. The closest we have to pets are 4 semi-tame ducks that stay in our lake. We feed them corn chops every day.

I do not have any pets at the moment. When my girls were growing up they had dogs and cats that turned out to be my pets. My daughter is allergic to the pet hair.

Two dogs live at my house. My dog is Sadie and she is a Yorkie/Shitzu mix. She only weights in at 10lbs. Sadie is a sweet little dog and follows me around the house. She just likes to be close to me. The other dog is my daughter's and he is a Rat Terrier weighing in around 25lb. He is a barker and drives me crazy.. For some reason, he also likes to be in whatever room I am in, although he does lay in with my daughter when she takes a nap in the day or goes to bed at night. Kipper is a wonderful watch dog and barks whenever someone comes in the yard. Sadie is about 6 yrs old now and is black and white. Her ears were solid black when I got her and this last year have slowly started turning gray. Both are sweet dogs and great company.

Sadie seems to be our dog Barbie, a small dog of pekingese origin but with an unknown mix. But I am not her favorite. She would usually summon my husband who is attached to his computer all day long. Barbie would sit by the side of my husband until she is noticed. Upon seeing my husband glancing at her, Barbie would emit short barks, a signal for my husband to stand up. And guess where Barbie would go? Into the living room sofa. She would jump right in and lay on her back, a signal for my husband to caress her. She does that several times a day.

My cat will stand there staring at me. If I don't notice her, or if I pretend not to notice her, she will tap me on the leg. Once she has my attention, she jumps into her box, which is where she likes me to pet her, to drag her around the room, or fly her through the air.
