Long ago, I heard one sign of getting older is individuals in professional jobs start to look like kids. I reached that point around 3 years ago when I went to a local ER- the doctor looked like a junior-high student. Long before then- and ongoing- is when events that occurred during my lifetime are mentioned as "history." This first came up in my kids' Social Studies books. A couple of other examples: one of my grandfathers was present when the Statue of Liberty arrived. My mother's grandfather served in the Civil War, and saw Abraham Lincoln. I'm sure you guys have examples, too...
I agree about professionals being younger than ourselves Janice - other than that though I won't allow meself to think on ageing - I'm blissfully unaware ..................
Just the other day I read a journalist writing in a magazine I subscribe to where he said.... he knew he was getting old when policeman, teachers and doctors all looked like schoolkids...but now he really knows he's past it because he thinks the Pope looks young...
Question.......... Are we really getting older or are we getting better ???? My wife used to call me a "dirty old man" whenever I reached over for a hug and a kiss, and a ---, but I explained to her that all I am is a .......... SEXY SENIOR CITIZEN ....
