    Carrie Fisher :(Sad huh.
Her autopsy showed she had cocaine, methadone, heroin and ecstasy in her system when she died in December, according to an autopsy report released Monday.
    Geez...no alcohol or pot.
Sad life some of these famous and glamorous stars lead.

Wellll maybe she left on a high note?

Traces of all of it. Her brother admitted she had serious problems with drugs and prescription drugs. "They definitely contributed to her death", he said.

She was also diagnosed as bi-polar.

Traces of it probably because I think the autopsy was done a couple days later.

Someone who has those drugs in their system doesn't just do traces of them in my opinion.

In fact isn't that what was listed as cause of death...sleep Apnea? It wasn't til today that I read about the drugs in her system.

If I remember right Debbie Fisher did not want to die before her daughter because she knew her daughter Carrie had a drug problem that she was always trying to help her overcome.

It's too bad. She had money to do other things but there must have been a profound unhappiness there.

Death shuts down the elimination of substances from the body. Thus, if death occurs from drugs, they will remain present no matter how long after death they are sought, within reason.

'Course, the old wives' tales perpetuated by my precessors claims the hair and nails continue to grow after death.

Some start for pain relief then get caught up in the insidious practice, a la Tiger Woods.
Used recreationaly it's harder to understand unless you're a thrill seeker or have an emotional need or, 'it' might even be in your genes?
Fanatics in religion or power are perhaps addicts too?

I doubt climate change was an influence, but I'll ask Al Gore ;)

Years ago I went on a carnival ride ... it was simply a 'teacups' type ride such as at Disneyland but with a twist ... it was inside a large space totally sealed off from light of any kind but as the ride started first it got pitch black and I mean seriously like being totally blind ... then small lights spun dotting the floor, the ceiling, and all of us passangers ... and then strobes began as well .... honestly the most claustrophobic and frightening lapse of regular reality I had ever experienced and I got off of that ride a more sober and reflective child as to what the world held ... both wonderful as well as frightening .... years later as an adult I'd hear acquaintences explain to me the results they experienced with drugs like LSD and all the rest and that smothering rememberance of that ride came back to me and still does to this very day ... so it makes my confusion even worse as to what in the world makes druggies prefer alternative 'realities' .... the one we experience daily is already often frightening enough !

I never did drugs, smoked pot once when I was 25 and didn't like it at all. I like to be in control at all times.

Not saying I never drank, Ive even been drunk but another thing I didn't care for, don't like alcohol. I've taken pain pills but never anymore than prescribed and I don't know why anyone would go to heroin from there....I don't get it.

I don't even get high with a pain pill, maybe I don't take enough.

Your recall is quite graphic. Few artificial things make that much impression on a youngster I would think. There are those senses of smell-sound or vision that take us back to an event. Hopefully in most cases they're benign.
Reality ? Reality is quite different for many even in an otherwise unaltered state.
Simply look at the convictions of those activists for a cause who get their high on extremist behavior and anti-establishment themes. Their reality is based on conviction from sources they see as the truth, but their 'truth' may not be the reality of the masses, the hoi polloi that simply eke out their daily existence with a live and let live reality.

A drug, (any substance that, when inhaled, injected, smoked, consumed, absorbed) influencing behavior might also be a conviction that overwhelms common sense to the detriment of society. Eg.. A Jihadist driven by fundamentalism or fatwa, a Christian extremist sect
    http://www.salon.com/2015/04/07/6_m...roups_our_media_conveniently_ignores_partner/
    or even a domestic Eco-Terrorist.

Is there much of a difference between they who are drugged on dope and a dope 'on' their personal altered state?

I can no more understand the need for a false reality in either case.
