I hope nothing comes of it. Trump is being criticized for responding to North Korea's threats, but he would have been criticized for not responding to them, as well.
Guam is a part of the US. and we have more than one military base there. I heard on the news it has been heavily fortified with more military hardware, so going after Guam is going after us. nobody of the D side of the isle has the first clue what to do. Trump's inflamed it and they want it left alone. like maybe we'll wake up tomorrow and all will be well in the world. Christ O mighty
Great "pipe dream", Hugh? All will be well......yea, right. But there will be protests if we do anything. Men and women enlist and go to military academies knowing full well that a war can happen and the can be a big part of the fighting.
I don't see anything of consequence coming from all the blister. More or less two of a kind making noise. I think it will settle down when another problem arises here and Kim Jong-Un gets it all off his chest.
There IS another alternative to this mess. The United States has an unequaled record of successfully neutralising troublesome political leaders of foreign powers, although, they weren`t TOO impressive with Fidel Castro....Doesn`t the CIA have agents in place in Seoul..?
I don't remember if I have read it here or not, but China has told North Korea that if it attacks any part of the US, it will remain neutral. North Korea has backed off it's threats. There are forces working in the background that we will never be told of. Whish is probably a good thing.
...All`s well which ends well, then. Just the latest bout of chest puffing, and sabre rattling...Besides, it would be an impossibility to fire off any warheads with any hope of accuracy because of the United States` ultra secret missile bending technology...
Despite all the threats and posturing by Jung I don't think he wants to die or have his family and friends die as well. His military advisors have surely told him that the U.S. has the capability of completely devasting ALL of North Korea and that it would not be reciprocal and starting a war would be futile and serve no purpose. So bottom line? I don't see either he or Trump anxious to fire the first shot, but it's making the whole world a bit nervous and anxious.
I haven't heard much talk of it the past few days so maybe it has fizzled like someone said. US said they are anxious to negotiate is what I heard.
