First thing this morning, your post#1077 had 2 pics that were on my desktop. They were over in the Art Gallery the orange and the lavender. Now the orange one is mysteriously gone from my desktop. What's going on? I'm glad because I know where I can find it now if I ever need it. Thank you. Oh and thank you for posting the trailer for Blue Valentine with Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams. At first I thought she was a young Gwenyth Paltrow. I was unaware of that movie but will search for it now…another thank you. He was amazing in The Notebook as were Rachael McAdams, James Garner, and Gina Rowlands. Good movie.

Ol' Blue…Willie Nelson sings a sad song about Ol' Blue

I really like Ryan Gosling and have seen most of his movies, "Blue Valentine" is so sad and from my experience so true to life. Another movie you may have missed is "Lars and the Real Girl" which though an odd story works really well and is very touching, full of humour and tenderness.
I like Michelle Williams as well she was very good in "Brokeback Mountain" and "The Station Agent" and "Take this Waltz"

:oops:I like the color blue too for it reminds me of cooler weather and a blue sky with tradewinds blowing 15MPH all day and night to keep you cool. Blue reminds me of a cooler temperature that I love so much so I won't get prickly heat. I love blue and blue is one of my favorite colors. Like this cooling image of a water rose blue gives you a feeling of refreshing soothing breezes blowing at you keeping you sweat free. [IMG]( Image by http://images.fineartamerica.com/images-medium-large/cool-breeze-on-the-brac-monte-lee-thornton.jpg.)

This makes me recall that my husband used to love blue. When we were still dating, he would always wear a blue shirt and expect his socks to be blue. He admitted to me that his favorite color is blue, obviously. But when we were married, I didn't notice that he had strayed from his favorite color. Except when given a choice between blue and another color, he seemed to forget that he had wanted the color blue. And that's when I discovered that he had become color blind. The doctor said that color blindness is not literally being blind of colors but something like momentarily forgetting what color he is seeing.

For me, my favorite color is pink and they say it is appropriate because I am a female. Unfortunately, the color pink is being used by gays as a symbol of their gender. No offense to the gays.

Interesting change in your husbands behaviour Corie, caused by his colour blindness, as you say its more of a confusion of colors, evidently it varies and you may not be able to tell say red or green apart, an interesting fact from Wikipedia:

Color blindness is usually classified as a mild disability, however there are occasional circumstances where it can give an advantage. Some studies conclude that color blind people are better at penetrating certain color camouflages. Such findings may give an evolutionary reason for the high prevalence of red–green color blindness. There is also a study suggesting that people with some types of color blindness can distinguish colors that people with normal color vision are not able to distinguish.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_blindness

Pink and blue are common gender colors for clothing and more in a lot of countries, and the fact that pink is used by the gay community, doesn't seem to have affected the use of pink in women's clothing here in the UK. In fact it's not uncommon for men who are not gay to wear pink shirts nowadays, because it has become fashionable here.

I discovered my son was color blind when he was about 11. We were canoeing and as I got close the bank I noticed some bright red flowers. He couldn't see them. I kept getting closer and pointing. The gray tree trunks and branches appeared to be the same color as the flowers to him. I asked him him questions and found that he was only color blind for red and green.

First, I thought of Christmas and how unexciting Santa would appear. Sadly, my next realization was that red, orange, pink, and lavender would all appear as gray in every sunrise and sunset. My paintings would never look very good to him. He was a good artist but I couldn't get him interested in painting. Maybe that's why.

Here's a modern painting by Dayanand Kamakar

The Blue Morpho Butterfly is among the largest butterflies in the world, with wings spanning from five to eight inches. Their vivid, iridescent blue coloring is a result of the microscopic scales on the backs of their wings, which reflect light. They are found in the tropical rainforest of Latin America from Mexico to Columbia.
