Where are they??? Maybe we should start sending out conversations to bring them back?? @Ken Anderson they do get an e mail by default right???
I am in a UK senior forum with almost 14,000 members but usually only 60 or 70 regulars online, I think we do better on percentages
Receiving forum emails is no longer the default. Every forum I have ever had or been a member of has had far more inactive than active members. This one is less than a year old so there's no need to do so yet, but when it gets older, I'll remove some of the inactive ones. Some people come back after long absences, so it doesn't hurt to have them there, as they are more likely to return if they still have a member account. Others join and even log in now and then, but never post. Lurkers will sometimes participate after they become comfortable with the forum, but others will register, read some posts and probably think about maybe taking part in the forum at some later date, but then forget about it. Glancing through the member list, it looks like many of those who have never posted haven't been back since the day they created the account. I know that I've registered with forums that I've never posted in, or that I've posted in only a few times. Regardless of their mail preferences, I can email anyone who is registered but I don't like to annoy people.
We now have 945 members. However, the majority of them are not active and have never been active. I don't like removing members who have posted in the forum but, over the next few days or weeks, I'll be removing those who have never posted and haven't even logged in for a year or more, so if you notice the membership decreasing, that would be the reason. Since there is no one button that I can click to do that, I have to go through them all individually, so I'll start with those who do not have an avatar.
A-F and we're down to 857. By the way, I don't really think you're interested in this. I am posting it mostly so that I can keep my place, and remember where I left off.
A-K = 793 There were a lot of Johns. I was beginning to wonder about this place. With that many Johns, we'd need more Candys, and Brandys, and Lolas.
I'm afraid I haven't been paying that much attention. Besides, if I named a strange name, I'd probably offend someone who has that for a real name. I've probably got a few Johns mad at me, as it is.
