I just got off the phone with my old friend, December. He will be arriving, early Tuesday morning, and staying for a month. I'm looking forward to it!
One of my favorite months! Starts off with my 11 soon to be 12 yr old grandson's birthday! I usually go back to Fresno on a tuesday but will stay til wednesday because of this. Also, I will be taking in some treats for him to share with his class on tuesday morning! He is named Nicholas...a good name for someone born in December.
Yes December was always associated with all the excitement of Christmas as a child, nowadays it doesn't mean so much. It is the ending of the year and has the shortest day, but I find all months kind of feel the same apart from different weather, growing old I guess.
December is quite a month for us also. It's the month my brother celebrates his birthday and the month that my wife and I were married.
My birthday is in December too. Some complain because it has the shortest day. I like it because it has the longest night.
December has a sort of identity crisis...It's name means the tenth month, being originally the tenth month of the Roman year.
We LOVE December because of Christmas! Brought up our fake tree from the garage last night and put it up. Will get the rest of decorating done within the week. Just got done with three days of Christmas shopping for our Shih Tzu puppy (getting in a week or so) and each other. We always shop together and get some things each of us wants and a few things that we really don't need, but still get. Will also go to a church Christmas Choir gala and Christmas Eve Service. Yes, Christmas.......love it!
I am the same Cody, love love love december and Christmas! I enjoy it with my family though and agree that before my husband died I always put up a tree, etc...dont do that anymore.
Just heard from my friend,December! He will be arriving around twelveish.....I am sending a car to pick him up!
Today is the first day of December! He arrived, travelling light, packing only some Winter clothes. Over coffee, he reminded me that the first Christmas Club payment was made to the Carlisle Trust Company, in PA, on this day in 1909! When I started my first job, I opened a Christmas Club, and always seemed to have one. It was always an adventure to go Christmas shopping, with a wad of cash! HAHA!
