...that we look upon them as Humans with a Speech Impediment. Look at the "Evil Eye" that Barbie is giving our just-adopted Jackie! ..... Trixie looks on... (Note the "ears back" stance on the combatants.) Hal
I have said many times...in my next life I am rasing dogs instead of kids...much easier and very rewarding.
Lovely picture Hal... Most people here know how passionate I am about dogs.. We don't have any dogs of our own any more, we stopped having them after my daughter was grown and left home, and we were working full time and travelling. However my daughter is even more passionate about dogs and has 7 of her own,,, as well as owning large boarding kennels and a Cattery, and a grooming studio . She has no children, never wanted any...her life is working with dogs and loving them like they were her children..
We both love dogs, but financially they can be expensive, just like cats. Vet bills sure aren't cheap. We had a 3 year old Husky when we lived in Colorado. After my wife quits her full-time job, and we move, we will be on a limited income. Don't know if we will ever get another dog, but if we do, it will be a Shih Tzu pup.
Oh yes I know what they are Cody..we've had one ourselves in the past...but they will need grooming, and feeding as an adult dog, and will still need exercised despite being small. here's some pictures of our Dogs , some are tiny from a chihuahua up tp a Doberman size .....I'm flying over to visit them very soon, can't wait to see them...
Family dogs, not yours personally? Keep a Shih Tzu in a “puppy cut”, very little grooming needed. It’s the “Show cut” that really needs a lot of grooming. Unlike big dogs, Shih Tzu’s eat very little due to their size. They also don’t require nearly as much exercise as a “Dobie” or Labadoodle. Yes, have done my research on the breed.
They are my grandfurkids...they all belong to my daughter..but I raised them from puppies for her while she worked very long hours.. and then she moved overseas when they were all around a year or 2 old.. since than she's got even more The little black dog in the picture is a Labradoodle..but he's a miniature not very much bigger than a chihuahua..and the big russet brown one is his brother..as is the white one, and they are all different sizes We also have a Chihuahua.. she was a rescue..and scared to death when my daughter found her wandering alone on her land..terrified of everyone, she'd been badly treated. Now she's healthy happy, and adores my daughter, never leaves her side..she's 4 years old now..
My life would be empty without mine, yesterday I just noticed my big girl Mica is 10 yeas old, we sure have put on many miles together
Tex...we have one 14 year old, a 12 year old, 10, 9 and age 8... a 4 year old... and a 3 year old... It seems like just a couple of years ago the elder ones were being born.. in the last 4 years we've lost 3 others..
Know the feelings, Mica my big girl now, I got her papers out and the 10 years old hit me hard in many ways, the avatar was Maddie we worked together 8 years she lived 12 years, I got her when young due to an officer's wife just did not like her at all and she was re assigned, we bonded in about 1-2 days totally and adopted her after retirement, I took her to visit the previous handler and she refused to let him even get close to her. He was amazed as to her weight gain and great looks and temperament changes. She was 102lb when she left me, her ashes will be buried with me. Having issues with new pictures today here.
