...because you're too young ! Two drunks were visiting the Zoo. As they staggered among the exhibits and cages, they stopped at a cage that contained a large male Lion. The lion came right to where they were standing and let out a loud ferocious roar! This scared one of the drunks, who said to the other "C'mon, Joe...lets go see the Elephants." Joe said "You go ahead...I'm gonna stick around and watch the Movie!" Hal
You got it Chrissy! It's "Leo", the MGM Lion who has introduced hundreds of movies since 1916, when the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer movie studio was founded. Hal
I don't think any one of us is too young to know the MGM Lion...... ...altho' I shoulda denied all knowledge shouldn't I?
Probably not, Holly. I never try to deny being old enough to remember things! I hardly ever use the term "That was before my time", even if it was! I'm proud of the number of years I've lived (82 and rolling), and always look for an excuse to tell others how old I am! Hal
Slats was an Irish lion in the days before sound. Take a look! https://www.logodesignlove.com/the-mgm-lions
I'm sorry, Shirley, but I'm as truthful and aboveboard as I can be, especially to a Tarheel. (incidentally...it's "lying", not "lion") H.P.
A college football team had just finished their final practice before the important game the next day, and the Coach told them all to lay off the drinking, women, and partying and to get a good night's sleep. Later on that evening, the Coach stopped at a bar for a drink, and noticed his star Running Back was at the far end of the bar drinking and laughing with some women. The boy saw the Coach coming in, but didn't know that the Coach had already spotted him, and quietly left the bar to hide out in the Men's Room. The Coach then said to the Bartender: "Give me an Old Fashioned, and see what the Back in the Boys Room will have." Maybe a few of you will get this one...it's a parody on the old song: "The Boys in the Back Room". Hal
No, Chrissy, but it's a clever play on words, which I always think is funny! Thanks, Gloria and Beatrice! Hal
