Your voice recording won’t play on my iPad when I try it has a line through the play arrow Maybe I need some sort of app on the iPad to play voice recordings ? @Ken Anderson
I thought you were from the North, Ken..? guess i was wrong. i don't have my media thingy working to hear your voice, Now i think Shirley has the most sweetest southern drawl , ever! 100% .. a real Southern gal..!
I am. I grew up in the UP of Michigan and currently live in Maine. In between, I have lived in Iowa, Southern California, Texas, and North Carolina.
There may not be many takers for this. "Whether you've heard yourself talking on the radio or just gabbing in a friend's Instagram video, you probably know the sound of your own voice -- and chances are pretty good that you hate it. ...Your voice as you hear it when you speak out loud is very different from the voice the rest of the world perceives. That's because it comes to you via a different channel than everyone else....perception of your own voice, ... sounds lower and richer. " Why you probably hate the sound of your own voice
I have a recorder app on my iPad and have used that to send birthday messages to,dear friends but I wouldn’t have a clue how to add it to,a post it’s easy to add to a email and friends far away havent had any trouble paying it
Right now, it's just a matter of creating a WAV file and uploading it using the "Upload a File" button.
I didn't mentioned this, because I thought it was just me, but it might be a clue as to why some people are not getting the email for confirmation when they first try to join. I was one of those, and it didn't go to spam. (Or why the email notifications aren't working.) I can never log in from this forum's home page, www.seniorsonly.club. I have to go to another page, like recent posts. It always gives this error message: Haven't tried clearing the cache. Preferred to just work around it, but I will, if the information would help.
Somewhere, you have your computer set to not accept cookies, it seems. Without cookies, you would have to log back in every time you clicked into another page. Here's a statement on cookies, which applies, except that we have no advertising cookies.
More information... I'm calling the "home page" here, the one you are taken to, if you click on the logo in the upper left corner of the page. This thing: If you click on that, the URL is not secure (i.e., starts with http: , instead of https:. ) This is the page I cannot log into. http://www.seniorsonly.club/ If I copy that URL, and edit in the s, https, then I can log in from that page. https://www.seniorsonly.club/ Maybe my problem has to do with Chrome? It's no big deal to me. It might cause a new member some confusion. Or it might be a clue. That's all. Thanks.
Browsers will often flag sites that use http rather than https now, so that, if they're selling something that requires a credit card or sensitive information, you know that. It adds another level of security but it doesn't mean that anyone can get in, but it also costs $100 a year. I few years ago, I bought a security certificate for it but couldn't figure out how to install it, so I didn't renew it the following year. Since we don't collect sensitive information here, and it's not as if it's insecure without it. That's mostly so you know that a site hasn't gone that extra step in the event that they are asking you for credit card or other sensitive information. No one has hacked the forum yet. Perhaps when I do the upgrade, I'll try again to get a security certificate installed. But I don't think that relates to the cookies issue. The cookies message is one that it would display if your browser was set to not accept cookies, but then it should also display on other pages because it would be pretty hard to navigate the forum without accepting cookies.
