Well, while in the Navy, on the West Coast/San Diego, and going on a Westpac Cruise: Hawaii Guam Hong Kong, China Subic Bay, Philippines Yokosuka, Japan Sasebo, Japan Midway Island
Almost every country in Europe... and of course all the countries within the Islands..like the British Isles , and Greece etc....
It's 47 countries at the last count, pretty much all of Asia most of South America and most of Europe, they all become a blur in my mind to be honest. The problem is my 10 year passports barely last 5 years these days, because of all the visa stamps, especially Russia. Thailand and Argentina are booked for next year, so maybe I will reach 50 before I pop my clogs
United States, Mexico, Japan, Korea, Hawaii, and Wheeling Island for 8 years. (See picture) One time when I was in grammar school, my teacher kept me after school for not knowing where the Azores were. When I told my Mother this, she said "Well next time remember where you put things!" Hal
For those of you who joined us after January of 2019, how many countries or islands have you visited?
I'm guessing that wasn't exactly a holiday? I'm thinking you probably had a government-paid travel agent.
True, but the Midway stop was on commercial return flight refueling. The place is so desolate the Navy restricts their personnel from being there more than 6 months. Just a big gas station in the middle of the Pacific. Our pilot watched the refuel man and when he was finished he handed him an EXXON credit card. You can see the WWII machine gun bunkers now out in the coral reefs under water. They have a problem with the sea birds and there were a couple wrecked out aircraft off the main runway that had either ran out of fuel or had bird strikes. I never bothered to get off the plane since there was nothing there. I have to say there aren't many of us that have been on the island, mostly all Navy personnel. Flying over the Aleutians in winter was something to see as we came out of Washington state Fort Lewis. It sure looked very cold and empty.
I have visited the following countries: Australia, Canada, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Philippines, Spain, Thailand, USA
