We've all seen the movies, and even some of ghost hunter shows, that indicate that ghosts are stuck with whatever they happen to be wearing at the time of their death. However, it's strange that we don't see very many ghosts in their underwear, or stark naked, or wearing something really stupid. Given that a pretty large percentage of people die in their sleep, I would think that there'd be a lot of underwear-clad ghosts floating around. Oh well. If you believed that there was a possibility that you would come back from the dead as a ghost, wearing whatever you were wearing when you died would that affect the way that you dressed while alive? I'm thinking that there would be a rise in pajama sales and, for my part, I don't think I'd shovel a path the compost pile wearing short pants, winter boots, and a tee-shirt. What if I had slipped and hit my head?
Interesting query. Finally, a party one can go to when “come as you are” includes those articles of clothing, or lack of them, that were not acceptable in public during one’s lifetime!
