The Monkees bassist and singer Peter Tork died Thursday at the age of 77, his sister Anne Thorkelson has confirmed. Tork's sibling did not clarify the suspected cause of his death, but in 2009 the musician was diagnosed with a rare cancer that affected his tongue. 'It is with beyond-heavy and broken hearts that we share the devastating news that our friend, mentor, teacher, and amazing soul, Peter Tork, has passed from this world R.I.P Peter you brought us all joy in our youth....
They were good, but I prefer a keyboard player in a band. They all acted rather silly in their tv show.
Always enjoyed the tv show. They did actually play their own instruments after a time. They were formed as a TV show, not a band and the first few shows had studio musicians making the music, but all but Davy, who sang, played something and they did their own as the episodes progressed. The songs were simple, catchy, pop, and the antics of the members were silly, but they made me laugh. Yes R.I.P., Peter.
