If you look a little more closely at Frank’s post, it was not his sister’s kids who were adopted, @Holly Saunders . His first wife’s parent’s died (the murder-suicide) and @Frank Sanoica and his first wife raised the two younger children.
The boy was not healthy, and also died in his 20’s (if I remember right what Frank has told us before), and it is the younger sister’s son that Frank is referring to in this post.
This is something that he has shared with us before, and probably the people that he loves most dearly in the whole world.

As for @Hal Pollner ‘s uncaring comment, I believe that it was done intentionally, and was a very poor comment meant to ridicule something that was obviously so close to someone else’s heart .
I would remove it as being VERY rude and inappropriate, but then I would also have to remove the answering comments, so (to Hal’s detriment), it will remain.

    Hey Frank.
Forums are kinda funny in that there are some people who constantly joke around no matter what the subject matter might be and then there are those who see each post for what it is and go from there.
I am sure that the majority of us see your post for what it really is and how much you are still troubled by your past loves......and losses.
Please do not worry about someone’s lack of understanding because those of us who do, pray for those who need to finally be at peace with those events that are so troublesome.
For every single person who seemingly doesn’t care, there are thousands who do. Your thoughts are not for naught Frank. Keep writing. It’s okay.

    FRANK,

I was so confused by the unusual events in your post that I couldn't connect anything together, (much like trying to understand wireless streaming video), so far from ridiculing the events in your post, I just decided to joke around, like the old song "I'm My Own Grandpa".

Anyway, i'm sorry if you took offense, as none was intended, and that goes for others who thought my reply was inappropriate.

You're my best male friend on this Forum, dammit!

Hal--I didn't understand Frank's post, either. In fact I wondered what it had to do with your OP about your high school photo. I understood that your response was just "being Hal" and making a joke. Hopefully Frank will see that, too.

@Hal Pollner I was hurt. I guess I've hurt all my life since I endured my new wife's terrible grief at age 20; we were married just two years then. I will probably be hurt until I croak. The years have softened the impact. But not removed it.

I provoked with my response to you, thinking you were among those who knew of my past, and forgot there were new Members present. My response was intended to be lop-sided, as though what was thought of me, and said about me, meant nothing. The profanity was intended to influence; I am rarely moved to such usage, and my mental agitation, later, surprised me.

No people in my life, not even my own parents and sister, have ever had such strong influence on me as my ex and her brother and sister. Now, they are all lost from it, save for a yearly phone call. And that then brings it all flooding back.

@Bess, that letter was very heart-warming, coming from someone 20 years my Junior!

However, no girl ever asked me for a dance, because throughout my high school years, I never attended a single dance, and if I did, it would have been Stag, as I never asked a girl to a dance. In fact, I never even had a date with a girl all through my high school years, meaning I never attended my Graduation Prom.

Football Games? Never attended a single one.
    Senior Field Day? Never attended.
    Senior Ditch Day? Never attended.

    I was a real Social Lion, wasn't I?

    @Hal Pollner

That's unreal! Fits my own high school experience exactly! 'ceptin' bet you didn't flunk senior English. I did. Did not graduate with my class, attended an extra semester, had to take 4 subjects to satisfy school's reimbursement requirements from the state. They mailed my diploma to our house.

Same here. No dates, no girls, no graduation prom, no parties. Dancing lessons, yes, but to no avail and basically left on the shelf.

The girls might know the answer. ;) Maybe I should have taken the initiative more often but I was always too afraid of being spurned.
