I've heard that support for Windows Seven is running out, and will be gone by years end.

This means I'll have to bite the bullet soon, and buy AND LEARN a Windows Ten PC!

Best Buy has new versions of PC's that eliminate the CPU Tower and include all hardware in the monitor case; these are called "All-In-One" computers. The hard drives are now Solid State, too!

How many of you are running W10 and like it?

    That's it...

I think a lot of schools still use 7 though. It could be an expensive upgrade for them.
I use a chromebook laptop. I don't use ANY version of windows.

In the Mac world, we just call them Macs. Decades later, PCs are copying Apple's idea.

We have a Dell all-in-one with a big touch screen. I hardly ever use it because I prefer a laptop, but it's a nice machine.

I have used Win10 for so long now that when I recently fired up an old spare laptop with Win7 on it I found it aggravating.

    @Beth Gallagher
We have 7 on my laptop, chrome on my wife's machine. Exactly what does this new revelation about 7 mean? My laptop won't work after the change? Why not? Why may I not be able to open and log on to Chrome, for example?

As far as I am aware, all that it means is that Microsoft won't be issuing any new security updates for Win 7.

A relief to hear that; thank you. My security "attitude" has reached the point where I think to myself, "if they (worms, viruses, Microsoft, whatever) want it, take it!

Sometimes my W7 PC will boot up in seconds, and other times it may take a full minute.

There may be nothing wrong with it...I don't know.

My husband used to fuss over the same thing all the time. There is a 'fast boot' option, but he said it didn't really work. I think it was fixed in later Window applications. @Ken Anderson would probably know more about this than I do. I use a chromebook laptop that has NO boot up time.....ever.

I've never seen a fast bootup with any version of Windows.

I thought they came up with a Fast Start App or something similar in later versions. They probably didn't work either. :D
@Hal Pollner Here's a video that may help. It's faster Win7 start up.

I hear it helps if you put some 3-in1 oil in the top. ;)
