I took a load of photos of my rural neighbourhood day before yesterday... here's one..I'll start a new thread for the rest...
This one from yesterday. Our favorite little Hawaiian Punch Hibiscus. It's only about 8" tall but so far this year we have had 29 blossoms on it with each one being between 4" and 6" wide .. it's gorgeous.
Another one from yesterday.... Chicken of the woods.... For those who don't know what this is..it's a Mushroom fungus.. which when cooked tastes exactly like tender chicken..not kidding!! Have a look here... https://www.tyrantfarms.com/introdu...-woods-mushroom-laetiporus-cincinnatus-et-al/ It grows here on the trees next to the rivers.. and very close to where we have our boat moored... The tree with the chicken in the woods is growing right next to this Weir...
@Holly Saunders The word "Weir" is almost never seen here in the States. Likely it is commonly used there? I heard of it extensively while in college taking a class in "Fluid Dynamics". Frank
I'll wait and see if Hurricane Dorian does the same type damage here as Irma did a couple of years ago. If so, my neighborhood will look like this again: No utilities, can't drink the water, roads closed, no internet...........for days. Still way better than a closer to the beach hit though.
