I have seen some great pics and memes today. At least everyone still seems to have a good sense of humor about it.
This was the scene of Crystal Beach (about 35 miles from where I live) after "Ike" in 2008. This storm that took out power in the Houston metro area for over 2 weeks. Ugh. Anyway, there was a single house left standing in this beach community...
Looks like it could be going directly over my house, coming out on the other side of the state and then possibly hitting my mother and sister in the Florida Panhandle. DAMN! We just bought that house in April. I wouldn't have been as upset if it had hit the old house. Oh, well, we're safely up here in the mountains of North Narrowlina and what will be will be. We have folks to check out the damage, if any. We could be home in nine hours.
Yeah, if you can find any gas. That is one problem with evacuating, you can't get home till gas supplies are renewed & they are going to charge premium prices. I sure do hope all goes well for you and your family Mary.
Isn't that just weird when it happens? You wouldn't know whether to be glad or just feel kinda embarrassed you are the only person in the neighborhood not homeless.
That one that belted Townsville in February was a decent blow. Nothing compares to Tracy.. a CAT 4 severe tropical cyclone that smashed into Darwin, Australia on Christmas Eve,1974.
It is weird for sure. Sadly, several people who had decided to "ride out the storm" in that community did not survive. (The guy who owned that house evacuated.)
Did see this retort by Fox news over this piece of S+++ flith Maybe you should take on board the end of the English King Stephan and applie it to her. A very old term "I WOULD NEVER WISH THAT ON MY WORST ENEMY" But with her I am in two doubts
Hubbys grandfather and dad built a house there on Gulfview in 1952. After he died house was used as a rental. But the family had access to it at any time. Everything you needed was in the house so you brought very little. I loved that place and was just as devastated when wiped away. My remains will be scattered there on the beach when time comes. Since then his cousin has built new house on the land.Papawas Place...gone but not forgotten.
