    The "like" button is the most sincere admission of admiration for a person.

    The LIKE button, in my most humble opinion, isn’t put there because someone Likes another person although there is evidence that some feel that it is.
    It’s about posts and the content of those posts. I read what is written and if it is indeed noteworthy, I put a like on it no matter what I personally feel about who posted it.

    There are a lot of great authors throughout history who were absolutely miserable people doing stupid things but their writing is and was superb.

    With all beef baloney one should choose a hearty red wine, the mixed meat baloney can be enhanced with a nice Rose’, and turkey baloney is probably best with something with a screw off cap like Ripple.
    And, just to stay on topic, congratulations for making the cut Shirley.

    Interesting view on the like-button, @Hal Pollner if I may put it this way.;)

    I think there are other ways of showing admiration for a writer and their posts and those are, first and foremost, a reply in writing.
    To me a "like" can express a number of things, e.g.:
    • I like the whole post;
    • (quite often) I like (only) part of it;
    • I have seen or read the post;
    • and a "Like" can also express a Thank you for something smeone else has done/posted.
    It all depends on the context. And that's how I'd interprete other members' likes as well.
