Al-Baghdadi detonated a suicide vest, killing himself and three children in a dead-end tunnel after US Special Forces soldiers trapped him in a compound in Idlib province in north-western Syria.

Al-Baghdadi who was responsible for thousands of deaths of those who opposed the hateful Islamic State ideology died "like a dog.. cowering and wimpering and screaming. Last night the United States brought the world's number one terrorist leader to justice," Mr Trump said from the White House.

I have to ask is it sensible for the American President to announce this for all to read. I fear that it will now further inflame remaining IS and embolden them to do something horrendous on American soil.

This is a wonderful thing that our president just did ! He is truly the “stable genius” that he is called by his supporters.
First , President Trump announces that we are pulling all of the American troops out of Syria, thus letting ISIS think that they had no need to be as concerned with their security as they did before.
Next, he plans a surprise attack, and keeps it a total secret, so that the information can’t be leaked out and the ISIS leaders would be able to escape.
It turned out that we have also killed another terrorist leader besides Al-Baghdadi, in a separate attack. Maybe even more important, we have also taken custody of their computers and other secret information, and it is expected to lead to the people who funded ISIS in the first place.
Remember, we had no such thing as ISIS until Obama became president, and there are a lot of people who think that his presidency helped to fund the terrorists.

I beg to differ on the surprise attack on IS. I heard or read that your President Trump was keeping troops in Syria as "he was going after any remaining IS". Or words to that effect. This may have been all smoke and mirrors to get the terrorists to change their hiding places. Whatever the circumstances this madman is dead and the US now has access to vital IS computers and other secret data.

This is a little off topic but pertinent given the previous posts.

Another madman died overnite and good riddance..Australia's most notorious serial killer Ivan Milat.
Milat was convicted for life for murdering..dismembering and burying the remains of 8 backpackers in a forest south of Sydney in the 90s. Police believe his murder tally is at least double that figure but this psychopath took the secret of his crimes to his grave saying that to reveal other crimes.. meant "he was no longer in control". So the families of those unsolved victims are left without closure and justice.

    What a charmer.

A cartoon in our national daily tabloid summed up my nations feeling about this animal. It depicted Milat pleading with the Devil to allow him into hell. The caption read "even I have my standards Milat"....

The deep state is chocking on what happened and the news media tries to make him out to be something other than a killer

The funniest part of the whole ordeal is when the President was asked by the news media if he told N. Pelosi.
He said (paraphrased) No, because he wanted the mission to remain secret.

Now Nancy is demanding to see a transcript of the mission.

Why would one need to read the book when one already knows how it ends?

It is interesting how this whole event went down.
First, President Trump announces that the troops are being brought out of Syria, giving the terrorists an indication that they are safer with the American military presence being removed.
Since the deep state connections were gone, someone had to go in person to contact Al-Baghdadi, but with the countries fighting and sending bombs back and forth, it was not safe for anyone to go there.

Next, President Trump manages to negotiate a cease-fire between the two countries, and immediately , both Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff traveled (unannounced ) for a conference of some kind.
While they were there, is when intelligence agencies located the place that Al-Baghdadi was hiding; so was that just a coincidence, or did Pelosi go to confer with Baghdadi, and inadvertently show our intelligence forces where he was hiding ?

When you consider all of the possibilities here, it makes a whole lot of sense why the President would want the mission to remain secret, and also why he sent his most trusted military, Delta Force, to accomplish the mission.

From today’s reports, it looks like they not only took the chief, but the next guy in line to be the chief.
