Until a few health problems surfaced I had been very active physically for most all my life. I miss playing Golf, Pickle Ball, Boccee Ball, Racquet Ball, Scuba Diving, Swimming. Ah Well---I'm on this side of the grass with good memories.

I also miss playing Pickle Ball, Boccee Ball, and Racquet Ball because I don't know what the hell they are!

I suppose I've lived a sheltered life; I never heard of pickle ball.

@Lon Tanner, Thanks for the enlightment. I don't think pickle ball ever
found its way across the tracks to my neighborhood. However, its more
likely you process more grey matter than I do, making you a few degrees
    more intelligent.

I like to walk through the house, hitting the ping pong ball.

I've practiced enough that I seldom have to retrieve it from the floor.

I miss many things of course and most of them due to physical limitations but not owning a car or being able to drive tops the list. I miss the freedom and independence of taking off in the car and GOING.

I would miss that too, Lon...it's one of the things I dread ever happening, that I get to an age or a medical situation where I can no longer drive!!

@Lon Tanner At least you do have options such as Uber and Lyft which aren't too expensive, nor do you have to wait long for them. I know it's not the same as going on your own, but it's better than having to taxi or ask for a ride.

I was in the steam room after a workout and a lady of 92, who also had just finished her workout, started a small conversation with me. She told me that her late husband didn’t know how to cook and she deeply missed cooking for him.

Of all the things in 92 years of life that she could have said she missed, it was preparing her mates food that came first to her mind. Wow.

I remember that you were glad to sell your car when you were first going to move, and said that Uber was working great when you needed to go somewhere.
Now that your health is not as good for walking and you have to use the walker, it probably makes it a lot harder to go places, even with an Uber, or the facility transportation.

Do you have a fitness center there where you can walk on the treadmill, or the reclining bike where you can sit back and pedal to strengthen your legs with ?
We have the fitness membership, and I can do water exercises , and that really helps me a whole lot, while still taking the weight off of my body like if I was using the treadmill to walk., which is a lot harder for me to do than the water exercises.

I use the Reclining Bike machine with arm & shoulder work outs. Good work out equipment here.

This is either a very sweet story or a hint to @Yvonne Smith of how lucky she is to prepare your food. :D
