I used facial mask instead of tooth paste and what a disgusting mess that was. Rearranged my entire medicine cabinet. Incidentally, I never keep any meds in that cabinet any how.
I've noticed as I've gotten older, I can't think about several things at one time and expect to get any of them done the way I want. I don't think my brain is going, but maybe once we've stopped working a job and raising kids with all the multitasking needed, our brains relax.
So right @Bess Barber - I loved that I could multi task, I still do me best but me best is getting worse
There was a senior moment at our house this week, but for once it wasn't ME. I have somewhat an out-of-control obsession with Fiestaware dishes, and each year they introduce a new color. (Still made in the USA, baby!) Anyway, I ordered a mug in the new color and my husband was using it a few days ago. Well. The dang mug has disappeared off the face of the earth; I have searched the back yard, the shed, the garage, the den, the rest of the house, and his Jeep...several times. Nuttin', honey. So I told him I'd just order another one while Macy's sale is going on. Since I placed the order today I expect to find the original mug in the freezer or some weird place, unless he threw it in the trash.
My husband used to take coffee cups to the barn where he did his woodworking or whatever guys do half a day in a barn. I would go down there whenever he left to go somewhere and retrieve my cups....usually all were 1/5 full of moldy coffee.
Four of my salad forks disappeared not long after my daughter and GD moved in. Um I figured it out..GD throwing them away- because they eat a lot of take out food and without thinking she throws then out Her mom boought a bunch of dollar forks to ..um I guess replace my Good ones ? Actually a few other things are missing also.
I live amongst 'seniors' we have a laundry room and everyday someone leaves an item of clothing in a washer, the items are left in open view to be retrieved and they never are ! Its 'Weirdsville' here for sure
Still trying to figure out how i'm supposed to act, since entering seniorhood, i do find i have more lights on when doing things, i often catch myself checking on things almost too often. I'm sure there are many more moments to come. .
I rarely lay down to sleep without having to get up to check at least one thing. Doors & windows locked, coffee pot on auto, phone ringer off, AC or heat at the right temperature, front light on, etc. It's so annoying until I think I'm going to make a check list.
