I DO google a whole lot, but not necessarily for the sole purpose of learning something new. I also use YouTube quite a bit.

If you are interested in learning new things, why don't you consider taking some of the online courses from Harvard?
They are free and you can study at your own pace.

I look up things that interest me and the offerings of online courses do not.

You are so smart, I thought you may enjoy it. I understand though, I don't want to take an online course either. :D

No, I Bing every day in order to learn new things for my job. If I Googled it, I'd have to wade through too much nonsense before I found anything worthwhile. At times, I even Yandex it.

I agree, Ken. Bing or Yahoo are much better.

I do Google a lot, maybe not everyday. I tend to use my Google Home if i want a quick answer. Have never tried Bing or Yahoo. Could anyone tell me why these two are a preference, as opposed to Google. Interested to know.

I never use Yahoo anymore since they had a massive data breach a couple of years ago; just a personal preference besides them being an unabashed liberal mouthpiece. Google tracks your every move but I still use Gmail and other Google apps. Bing supposedly doesn't track like Google but I am not convinced or trusting of any of them.

To answer Lon's original question, yes... I use many search engines including Google frequently. They make life much easier; information is truly at one's fingertips.

If I were younger, I might be more concerned about the privacy issues surrounding Google, but the main reason I don't use it is that it doesn't do what it's supposed to do well. Rather than helping me find what I am looking for, it decides what I should be looking for and gives me that instead. Basically, I don't like Google because it doesn't do a good job as a search engine. Bing is doing a bit of that too, but not to the extent that Google is. Both Google and Bing used to be better search engines than they are now but, of the choices I have, Bing does the better job. Plus, Bing Rewards are nice.

Yes Lon, I am always looking for something somewhere, researching, something.. for that I use all different mediums of search facilities, including Google and Duck Duck Go

For example tonight we were watching an old B&W movie on TV, and we were trying to work out who the female character actress was who had such a terrible accent, so I just as I often do , popped onto IMBD to find out who she was
Aside from the physical search engines I also Have Amazon echo ( Alexa)..and Google Home... so several times a day I'll ask them random questions...

Google gives me a limited number of options, then stops short advising me to download a bunch of apps on my phone and tablet. Bing, Yahoo, and several others don't do that.

I guess I'm one of the few people left who really like Google. Maybe it's because I'm used to using it.
