Of course it's hard to pick just one, but what's a current favorite? I have one going through my head right now, and here it is.

Yep I liked that one when I was a youngster too....but as you say there's no possible way of choosing just one favourite song...in fact if I was asked to take 20 favourite songs to a desert Island I'd be hard pressed to choose so little...I just adore music!!

However as you've asked one of my current favourites and believe me I really don't get into current music at all...but occasionally a nice one comes along and I find myself singing it all the time...and this one...is one of those.. (get ready with the tissues)

You have asked the impossible, @Diane Lane ! I truly wouldn't even know where to start because there are so many. I'm not sure I ever really have a "favorite". Sooooo, don't pinch me, I'm going to cheat and take a trip down memory lane. Here are two of my favorites from when I was a teen/ young 20s. I've done a LOT of housecleaning dancing around to the second one... Meatloaf. I hear it even now and feel like dusting. Hehe Wait, pretend I didn't say that!

Disclaimer... this is NOT the country music I've been talking about. Far from it... the second one. hehe Oh my!

So many great songs in my mind, none of which I could really say was THE favorite. To me, it comes to who is singing a certain song, does it make the hair sorta stand up on the back of my neck, and does it bring a slight tear to the eye. So many good songs are ruined by a certain artist's interpretation/performance of it. Yet, with the right artist, the song can build and build and get better every time it reaches my ears. Some of those that have been done so well by certain artists....

'How Great Thou Art' by a 9 year old girl...

"Hallelujah"... done so well by so many. This rendition is from the heart and in a language I don't even understand. That does not take away from the impact....

We don't like the current music, whether it's rock or country. That is why we have cd's and concert dvd's of Classic Rock, Oldies and Country. I really can't pick one favorite, b/c I love most Classic Rock, period. But, if I had to pick a "favorite among favorites", it would be Renegade by Styx. One of wife's favorites would be Jackie Wilson's Lonely Teardrops.

At the present time, my favorite singer has to be Adele. When she sings, I listen.
She has quite a voice/presence that I really like.

From the past, too many sounds and groups that pulled me in.. mostly rock.

That's a good one @Holly Saunders . When I said current, I meant your current favorite(s), as in what you enjoy listening to now, not necessarily songs that are current. I listen to pop on the radio, but still love many songs from the past. My neighbor likes 70s hits, so I get to hear them when he's working in his yard, and I always sing along.

Wow, y'all have some good taste in music, I think this is going to end up being one of my favorite threads. Since our taste and favorites change constantly, feel free to come back and post more.

Russian by chance Ike? .... I am. My mother's family is/was all Russian.
Grandparents were born in the "old country". ... loved hearing their stories of life there.
They both left as teen-agers ... not together, but they found each other and other family members after getting to Ellis Island.

Not Russian but Slovak. A slav, like Russians, Poles, Czechs and others.
