Yes he acts the buffoon...and very good at acting it up when he want to.. the problem is that we had little choice in leaders .. Boris the academic buffoon's Conservative party which has been the one that was lead by Thatcher , or Labour , the socialist anti-Semitic Jeremy Corbyn party that weren't fit for any purpose at all, some of them didn't even look like they'd had a wash before they left home much less lead a country .. it was deplorable.. of course this country has had more than enough for the last 3 years since we voted to leave the European Union, from the minority Brexit remainers doing everything possible to prevent Brexit from happening, so this time the British people rose up and voted in their greatest numbers. There were town, cities and counties in the North of England and in poverty stricken parts of Wales who had always voted Labour for as long as 90 years , ( the working mans' party)... who for the first time changed their vote over to the Conservative party... The few areas where Labour won most of their votes have high populations of immigrants..
Yes well happy. We can now get Brexit done and that Terrorist supporter Corbyn is finished but wont go. Was in to minds how to vote and thought of spoiling my paper. The sitting MP was Labour but in the end I voted Con...who lost by just 300 votes. My Daughter who is a life long Labour supporter for the first time in her life did not vote Labour but cast her vote for the Greens. What did surprise me was how much the North moved to the Right. Think we have a couple hard years ahead of us as a Country but think we will be alright. Roll on the 31/1/2020
Pleased you managed to vote I hope he 'is' trustworthy and will show all the doubters they were right to put their vote for him, especially the Northeners (I'm a big fan of them) I want him to do well for us and himself and go down in history for all the right reasons.
Apparently Corbyn has stated he will not be taking the labour party into the next election. Now I am no Blair fan...good Lord far from it,.. but at least in '97 when Labour won after years of Conservative leadership with Maggie T, the party at least looked and sounded like it knew what it was doing, but in all honesty, now the Labour party look like they've escaped from some institution for the terminally unaware, unable, unstable, and ridiculously stupid!! Even if Corbyn was to step down there's not another single one of them who are capable of leading that party... ..Unless Conservative take us into the most abysmal situation ever in history.. Labour is finished for a very long time.
Holly think you are right on this. Cast your mind back to the 60s and Militant Tendency in the Labour party. Its now called Momentum. Great speech from Kinnock 1985(audio is terrible) but took another 12 years for a Labour victory.
What is the election cycle in GB? Seems like it has only been a few months since Boris was previously elected...???
It wasn't Boris who was elected this time, it was a General Election, ( parties against parties) and it was his party who won.. or more to the point remained in Power ..
Any time the PM asks are Queen to dissolve parlemnet in the 60s we had two in a year. There is no fixed term under 4 years
I like these two. they have lived in England for over 4 years. They get some things wrong at times but this I think its fair comment. A bit long.
If I understand British history correctly, Churchill wasn't thought of very highly on a personal level; Gallipoli being part of it, but his reputation improved mightily after the war.
