Referring to someone as a "troll" is name calling.

Peter Renfro has been a member here for about a year, but does not regularly participate in most conversations, and usually just likes to get into the political discussions and be insulting and abusive to people who disagree with him.
He has been banned several times for rude behavior, during the course of the year, and the best response is to just report his posts that are insulting rather than actually participating in the discussion.
We have people here who have various differing opinions, and there is no problem with disagreeing with each other about something, but when the responses are becoming rude and insulting, then they need to be reported to Admin to deal with.

This is the Hot Button Issues section of the forum, where we make more allowances for dissent. For example, I believe that it has been suggested here that former President Obama was a Muslim, a traitor to his nation, and that this wasn't truly his nation at all, given that he was born somewhere in Africa. It has been suggested that his presidency set race relations back by a few decades. I think that there have been allusions to his marriage being actually a gay relationship, given that his wife was born a guy. The likelihood that some or all of these things may well be true doesn't make them any less uncomplimentary. But we make more allowances for insults against public figures who are not part of this forum.

Peter Renfro has stated that he hates President Trump. He has referred to him as a racist, which is in keeping with the topic of this thread. The fact that there are more reasons to believe that Michelle Obama is a man than there is to believe President Trump is a racist doesn't rob Peter of his right to believe whatever it is that he wishes to believe. Until he decided to run for president against Hillary, no one ever suggested that Trump was a racist, or a homophobe, or any of these things. A womanizer, perhaps. The people behind these allegations know them not to be true, but they know, also, that their followers, like Peter, will believe whatever they are told to believe. Peter is a good Democrat, you see. He doesn't question the propaganda. If tomorrow, his leaders decided to accuse Trump of being a Reptoid, Peter would believe that too. He may not be a deep thinker, but he's a loyal Democrat.

    That's allowed here.

And shame on me for labeling (not calling) him an internet troll (he fits the definition) and giving him victimhood status! :D:D:D

Back to the topic. Pres. Trump doesn't fit the definition of a racist even by the weakest vague definition. It was just one of many labels the fascist losing control over the USA, branded him with the minute they knew he was a contender for President. I can't think of anything derogatory they didn't brand him. The labeling against him was like a soup made from urban garbage eating rats, that had too many ingredients added and at taste time, was putrid. Had they eased up on the ingredients, they might have disguised the urban rat meat and fooled those that didn't question the main ingredient of the soup.

Yvonne, since his insult was cloaked in generalties, I don't feel I can report him. I simply called him out and that's it. Faye gave me some tips, so he's history as far as I am concerned.

It seems to me most of this latest conversation ought to be done in private between the moderators, or between individuals. Discussing it publicly is tacky, imo. Moderating is tough, but one shouldn't have to drum up public support to make a decision.

That's equivalent to letting members do the moderating. Whoever yells the loudest, or pretends to be offended the most, "wins." In other words, the control freaks will always get their way. Been there.

I agree, Nancy, and if I'd know he was a troll, I'd have ignored him, but his comment was so vicious, I felt compelled to say something. To make a general statement on a forum such as this is, certainly should not be to the point where a person will become incensed. I don't like public discussion like this at all and if it had escalated, I'd have simply logged out.

Like the statement that you are a person of quality, I find both to be highly subjective.
Now, you may say, “ I think Bobby just insulted me” and the answer would be “nope, I didn’t”. I merely use the same tactics that you do when you performed an analysis on whether or not Trump is a racist.

You write that you are a person of quality but by the way you write and the length and breadth of your vocabulary gives me pause in order to examine the critical points of one with “quality”. To me, it’s completely based on your own opinion of yourself which, has no foundation set up for the general public to examine.
On one hand, I can find hundreds of examples which clear D. Trump of racism but I cannot for the life of me find any documentation which states that you are a person of quality much less that you do not lay with filthy people. (I guess the part about filthy people is somewhat subjective also.)
Note: If it helps out any, I would like to follow that by writing that most people I know Do have a higher opinion of themselves than others do so perhaps it’s just a natural inclination that some people have. But the Trump / racist thing?

Back to the subject matter though; they say it takes one to know one so the question is Pete, “are you a racist”? I mean, if you are I won’t hold it totally against you but if you are, then maybe because you are a white supremacy racist you know something about D. Trump none of the rest of us has seen thereby bringing something objective into the mix. Do tell if that’s the case.

The bottom line here is Pete, you like to bring subjective material into a debate and declare it to be some sort of scientific fact when in truth, you have nothing to back it up other than a couple of rag pieces known to be less useful in a study than the National Enquirer.

Yes, it is. On the other hand, speculating that someone is trolling is not.

In my experience, people with friends of a different race usually aren't racist. I don't believe Trump is a racist at all. I don't particularly like Trump but the hysterical liberals are out of control so he's my only choice at this time. Why can't you voice your opinion without disparaging others?

How do you determine a person's "quality?" Just curious.

@Faye Fox , like I said, you are a unique lady. :D Not one to be reckoned with easily. ;)

I sometimes browse..... OK, lurk...… on political boards. There is always one, maybe two, posters who keep sh.t stirred. I think they are probably paid to do that. Most of them seem to be avidly anti-Trump. I'm not sure if they are paid by Democrats/liberals to stir hatred for President Trump or if they are paid by Republicans to make posters angry at Democrat/ liberals for their extreme bias against him.

I think that the person posting against President Trump is one that I have seen on other forums.
