Well, a woman in the 70's looks one way, a woman who IS closer to 70 in age.....would look a whole different way.
After winter, you can go down mid calf, pull them up so they are at capri length, then fold back down the excess. Now your long ones are all capri's and you can't even tell there is a fold. Trick from my daughter.
I wear shorts year-round so hardly ever wear leggings, but when I do they are so comfy. I'm all about comfy.
Same here - if I do succumb to them, its a long top and those leg warmer thingys over the top - very classy
The fashion world seems to create their own environment. They consider themselves 'artists' who are 'telling a story'. It is just clothes. The only story my clothes tell is that I shop at WalMart.
Comfy apparel.....great for us gals....Like the idea from your daughter, Bess, different looks with one garment, cool. Leggings and a long top is definitely part of my closet, only i like the leggings in a looser fit. Not because of a religion or culture, my favorites are what i call house dresses, because i'm very hot blooded, i find them more comfy at home, but not like our granny's house dresses, more modern, pants, capris when i leave the house, unless in summer weather, i'll wear the dresses and sundresses out too. There, my wardrobe secrets are out. .
Who wants to dress like some old foggy. Many of the young want to be different. And why not? Its not a big deal.
