In Europe we don't get stamps in our passports since joining the EU in the 70's if travelling only in the European Union.., so I have no stamps as I did with my old passport, but we'll be getting the old pre EU passports back when ours runs out this year now we're out of the EU again, and we'll get them stamped again.. I can tell you however, that despite having no stamped passport my last one was June 2019
Mine was twenty-five years ago when I visited Italy. It is the only time it was ever used. I let it expire.
I'm not digging my passport out, but it would probably have been a business trip to Canada 7 or 8 years ago.
@Beth Gallagher Went to Germany with my first wife (she was born there) and drove all about, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France in a little rented Fiat car. Those passports were stamped so many times, they ran out of room! This happened in April, 1972. Think I still have my PP from back then tucked away somewhere.............. Frank
We've only used our passports once. 2008 cruise to the Bahamas. Just before they expired, we paid to have them renewed. We read online that having a valid passport is as good an ID as a drivers license.
@Cody Fousnaugh That was not so in 1972 in Europe. We were required to get International Driver Licenses to enter every different country. Frank
What I meant is, if a person loses their DL, they can use their passport as an legit ID. Not to drive, only for ID.
I wouldn't either except I had to travel for work; now that I'm retired I don't ever plan to step outside the USA again.
I came from Germany when I was three years old. Haven't been out of the country since, other than a day trip to Mexico when I was a kid.
I still have the first passport I got in 1967 to travel around Europe for three months. It has most pages about full. some of the countries had big 'ol stamps that took half a page. My most recent passport has maybe 7 stamps with the last one being India.
Oct, 1990, Malaysia.. An unintended stop. . Flight was re-routed through Malaysia at the last minute. Only spent about 12 hours there, most of it sleeping.
