Who Remembers The Nelsons?

I found 147 episodes offered as a channel on Roku, they go back to 1952! I was too young to know what they were doing in the early years but I remember them. Of course, they were around for long time.

No reruns for me..........actually watched the show. It was the first "real life" family tv show.

Remember Rick's twins who had the band, Nelson?

 

I remember watching their shows, right from the beginning in 1952. Weren't they just the perfect, sweet family?
Enjoyed Ricky, and his music too. I did forget about his sons though, and their band.

 

@Bonnie Thomas , yes they were SO perfect and sweet, even when they argued, they were sweet. I loved them. They lasted for 14 years!

I absolutely love these old shows... but this is one that was before my time. I've seen (and enjoyed!) the reruns, though...

These black and white shows make me nostalgic for a time period that I wasn't even part of... and in the late 50s, I was just a baby, so no reason for that feeling... it's always been a mystery to me. Maybe we're connected to our mothers more strongly than we realize... I don't know, but I know SHE enjoyed the decade.

 

The Nelsons were on TV until the mid 60's

 

I didn't watch TV until probably '66. Certainly not in the 50s and I'm pretty sure not until around the time when my baby brother was born. Edited to say that I just looked this up to see how much I missed it by, and it actually ran until March '66! I wonder why I don't remember it? Other ones I remember, though.
