A 5 year old boy shot by next door neighbour at close range just for riding a bike on his lawn. The sad part they were friends and the person who shot the child was over at their house having dinner earlier. Now because this was a white child and the killer was black the media has gone on shut down. That is a terrible thing Martin. Very tragic. But to say the media has gone on shutdown is not correct. I see where all the regional outlets have aired this story. Have the nationals picked it up, I don't know? To make assumptions as you are is just that, you making assumptions, no value other than the cost of the electrons that are making your assumptions live forever in the ether! No matter their longevity, there is no data,no study,nothing,just an assumption.
Peter I put a google search as you seen. If it were a black it would have been on CNN, MSNBC, and all the others for a week and you know it. Quit being so cynical about every thing I put up.
His point was clear, Peter. Had the shooter been white and the victim black, it would have been everywhere, with repeated updates. The media would be following the preparations for the funeral, they'd be following the funeral, and two weeks later, the breaking news would be that the kid is still dead.
Well of course the shame and pity of it is that a tiny little boy has been killed, no matter what color he was. This world gets uglier every day.
That is exactly right, @Beth Gallagher . It seems like , on almost everything that happens, the focus is not on what happened, but who it happened to, and what color they were. The important thing here, is that someone’s little child was shot and killed , for no reason, and in front of his sisters as well. And by someone the family knew, because the article said that he was invited there for dinner a day or so before the shooting occurred. It is incomprehensible what could make a person do such a horrible thing, and it has nothing to do with skin color.
They interviewed his father on WRAL tonight. His father is a rough looking character. I wouldn't be at all surprised if drugs were somehow involved. Which doesn't make it any better for the child. He's still an innocent victim.
