Hello Bill, nice to meet you, my camera is an entry-level Canon EOS 750D, I like to take pictures of landscapes and animals, haha

Please share some of your photos with us while you're sorting them out. There are two forums where you can do that Photos and Videos and Hobbies and Crafts. You can even share how you got interested in photography in Personal Diaries.

Hello Brian. I let them sit in the folder they were in when downloaded and label them most of the time, but the rest are just there. No system really.

Type of landscapes and animals? Mine are of mountains, mountain wildlife, farm/ranch animals and professional rodeo. We live in northern Colorado, which is full of that kind of photography.

Mine are sorted by date only. One of the tasks that I'll probably never get around to is going through the thousand of photos that I have in the cloud and deleting the 80% of them that I don't need. Since the photos are digital, if I need one photo, I might take four or five, and then I keep them all. For that matter, many of the photos I take are simply for posting in the forum one time, and there's no reason for me to save a thousand photos of my compost pile.

I used to let them sit there too, but I later found that organizing the photos was a relaxing thing, because when they were all organized, I felt comfortable looking at them, and I can think of something wonderful about those photos as I sort through them

Yes, most people don't organize their photos in the cloud, so I like to organize my photos first and then put them in the cloud

It can be such an overwhelming task.

I have tons of pics I've taken with my game cameras, and there are a few I always seem to have to hunt for. I'm not smart enough to copy them or put them someplace where they are easily found.

Maybe leaving them somewhat unorganized has an upside. I recall leafing through physical photo albums and rekindling memories through that random walk.

Please do that. I've got a ton of pics to organize myself.

Even though I gave advice on those Tags, I've yet to sit down and do mine.
