Go find a cookie or pet your dog or feed your goldfish. There, I said it. The ignore button is being pushed in 5-4-3.......poof
That's true , or may be true, from a secular point of view. (I can't have a secular point of view, even if I can ever understand the secular point of view or can or cannot explain it) . I'm not sure overall, because the views, topics, and methods used in the USa, gov, med, edu, financial, and internet are increasingly , daily, sinful, as pointed out way before the internet ever started, (maybe as far back as Martin Luther, and as recent as Dr. Maulden on the good side, and other politicians/ Fauci?/ etc on the dark side ? ) .
Thank you thank you thank you Ken for posting this, and for attempting to be nice as well as instructive in your warning. It would be good if your instruction is either heeded, or if the violators of this policy chooses to go spam their agenda elsewhere.
Hmm. It is interesting but not surprising who, unintentionally perhaps, self identifies as seeing Ken's comments directed at them. YMMV
Yes Beth- agree. Perhaps if we All hit ignore, the issue will be kept at bay. Also make your complaints to the proper people. I have now.
This is a good idea, @Gloria Mitchell , and I think that several of us have dealt with annoying posters by putting them on ignore. I think that part of the thing that Ken is concerned about with the agenda posters, is that it not only stops the flow of conversation on the forum, but it also is detrimental when someone new joins the forum. New people do not have anyone on ignore, so they read every thread that interests them. They think that this is what the forum is about, so they never come back, and look for a place with friendlier conversations and not someone spamming every thread with their agenda.
Exactly! Most forums would have already banned such a one for spamming. Ken chooses to be as fair as possible which I admire, but I was beginning to wonder when this spammer would be asked to stop or be banned. After reading one of their posts, I never read another and was surprised anyone wasted their time responding. I don't ignore anyone as it can render a thread a broken mess when others respond to a post unseen to me. I choose rather to just see they posted and then read on skimming responses directed to the malicious poster. Being a seniors forum and since repetition may come with age, I look for malice and an agenda.
There's only been two times in my whole life that I have felt the need to use the blood pressure, excusde me, the Ignor button. One is now, here. The other time I was not online and I broke his nose with my fist. That doesn't count the time In an elevator a man asked me not to smoke in there. I said sure, and I put my cigarette out on his tie.
@Yvonne Smith, this is exactly what I thought when I joined just 2 or 3 days ago. I nearly disenrolled this morning before I saw this thread and figured out where to find the Ignore. To me, it was beyond spam. It was aggressive harassment, exactly what I hate about that mindset and behavior, and really created a sour taste for this platform. So glad it was taken care of today.
Let's not beat up on anyone. My hope was that those who I had in mind (and it wasn't singular) would recognize themselves and try not to be too annoying. There is room for all sorts of opinions here, and I didn't want a couple of them to drown everyone else out. My intention is not to get rid of anyone.
