True or not, or not so much. Explain your complaints of "screwed up" and "a mess" better. As for the "crime" thing, it just depends on where a person lives. "Businesses are not efficient"........and how? And, last, but not least, how do you want your Assisted Living to be?

Seems like something, or somethings, is/are making you upset, Lon. Why? Are you reading about "bad stuff" too much online? I actually have a habit of doing that on Monday AM, but am learning to take all of the "bad stuff" in stride. There will always be crime and criminals just like there always has been in the past.

You are Dead Wrong as usual Cody. Nothing is upsetting me .I don't read about bad stuff online. There is enough of that on TV and in print. Stop trying to analyze every thing I post.

Lon, you are the one complaining in your thread. Not trying to analyze you, just stating how I read your opening thread.

Anyway, Lon, it's fun analyzing things you write. Remember, Lon, the "ignore" you can use on me. Just saying.

I for one do like your seeming straightforward simplicity Lon.
This forum has enough wickedness (bad stuff) to grow a toxic prolific weed garden - no need to add bad news to the day more by watching the news.

How has your Assisted Living changed since you moved there @Lon Tanner?

And what changes do you want to see happen where you now live?

One of the changes has been a huge loss of residents that have moved out for one reason or another.
Another change has been a big turnover in staff and care providers. Finally there has been a overall reduction in the amount and quality of services which is due I am sure to the employee turn over. Things were great Pre COVID and I would like to see restoration.

I wonder if others living there feel as you do Lon?

At any rate you pay a high amount for good Service and you should address your issues to those running this Assisted Living Home.

There are only a few residents still here that were here when I moved in three years ago and we are all in agreement. We have discussed our concerns with management and they listen and adjust.

So is your main concern getting more good residents right now?

When Nursing Homes, etc. started locking people out of the places their family members were in, I think many families decided to take their family members home with them so they could see and interact with them...even if it meant paying more for in home skilled Nursing.

The COVID-19 nightmare is still affecting so many people and places...and I don't think life will ever be returning to the normal we used to know.

I have no real concerns Babs, other than for my own health and happiness. I don't care if they get more residents or not. My reason for all the posts that I have made is to inform other seniors of what it is like to live in AL. Some of you may be joining the club eventually.

Lon, I hope you did not take anything I said the wrong way...as it truly wasn't met that way. I can see you wanting more residents if so many moved out as you take an interest in people and the lives they have lived.

Seen in many countries and forums, many whistle-blowers are banned or censored . I like the websites you post links from for making information available for all to read.

There seems to be quite a few and today my assisted living is having a support group meeting at 4 PM. I will go and see what it's all about. I do not belong to any group and doubt that I need one. The COVID 19 mess irritates the hell out of me but I am surviving it.

I guess I’m going to have to wait to find out how your particular support group intends to be helpful.
I know about the parental support groups and see them as a way to help parents come to grips with nearly a whole year of being tied to the home and the possibility that their kids might have to take a grade over again.

Of course there are always support groups for loss of life and things of that nature but beyond that, I don’t know what good a seniors support group would do. Most of us already deal with life and everything that gets tossed at us fairly well. Dunno.

Like I wrote, I’ll wait and see.
