So I found out last week that I'm going to have a new Nurse for my next home checkup.

The Nurse that has been with me for over a year is young and has two small children at home and her work schedule has just been overwhelming her...so I'm glad she has found a schedule with another Hospice that will give her more time to nurture her own little ones.

I have asked for an older Nurse for my next one. My young Nurse was wonderful but I felt like she was a daughter to me and this time I want someone who is closer to my age that can not only understand about cancer but also the issues of aging. She will start next week so I will let y'all know how that goes.

Still standing firm on my rock of faith and placing my life in the hands of my Creator everyday.

When I was first diagnosed with breast cancer one of the things I worried most about was how was my Honey going to cope with this.

Most people on this Forum know that my spouse is a functioning alcoholic. I had no idea how he would deal with the stresses that cancer can bring. So one day while he was sober I sat him down and told him that we were going to have to make a decision. I told him that dealing with cancer was going to be hard for us and that I did not think we could handle both cancer and alcohol problems. I told him that I was going to need his support and he had the choice to make some changes in his drinking or he was free to leave if he didn't feel he could cope with my diagnosis.

My Honey told me that I had always been there for him...and no matter what...he was going to be here for me too. And he had been, every day...in every way.

Did he stop drinking? No, but drinking is not is first priority anymore...I am. God gives him the strength everyday to be my support. I am proud of my Honey and wanted y'all to know it.

This past Monday I got to meet my new Nurse. Her name is Jackie and she's in her 50's...my other Nurse was 30. She is a Widow and she has a fur baby at home that is her family. She's been a Registered Nurse for over 30 years and I think we're going to do just fine on this journey I'm on. She wore no mask and she gave me a "moma" hug before she left. :)

Time will tell but for now everything is good.

My Honey will be going to visit with his daughter and her husband next Wednesday the 23rd thru Monday the 28th. He will be there for the 25th which is her Birthday.

My youngest brother and my SIL are going to Dallas to visit son and his family so they have offered to bring my Honey to Arlington where his daughter lives. And then they will pick him up and bring him home to me on the 28th. Since this will be the first time we have been apart since my cancer diagnosis...I think we are both feeling a little anxiety about being apart. But I want him to go spend time with his family and I do have all 3 of my daughters here if I would need them. My Honey would like it better if I would go stay with them while he's gone...but I want to stay in my own home and sleep in my own bed every night. I will visit with them...and of course I will call if I need them. But for me there really is no place like home.

And I won't be alone...as God is always with me.

".who when he formed me in my mother's womb also set the number of my days here on earth..
And I'm not going anywhere until those days are up. The Doctors wanted me to go the same route they basically want every cancer patient to go...but after prayer, research, and Doctor options I chose the best option for me...and that's really all any of us can do. I remember when my Doctor's said that I had to follow what they wanted me to do or else I'd be lucky if I lived 6 months. Here I am almost 2 and a half years later living my life basically how I did before my diagnosis."

When the Creator smiles on us (an ongoing blessing) , (anyone), what can happen ? All Good. (even if painful suffering)

Well it's time for another update but first I wanted to share Mrs. Paddington bear in her sunflower outfit with all of you. She's a gift I received in the mail last week from my sister who lives in Georgia. She was a total surprise and I love my sister for knowing how much I would love her!

Had my 2nd visit with my new Nurse and she's so much easier to open up and really talk intimately with. Plus she loves to give hugs...and I love to receive them. Vitals and everything else all are still good. So she feels we can still keep to the every two weeks visits.

I've been having more aches and discomfort these past few weeks and part of that is because we have had rain off and on almost every day and those pressure systems that bring that rain just play havoc with this aging body of mine. Plus I strained some muscles in my back and until I started using some linocane patches I was miserable. Today I am almost back to normal.

My Honey had a nice visit with his daughter and her husband for 6 days and I ended up having a nice surprise when one of my sisters from Florida came to spend the weekend with me while he was gone. We both enjoyed our time with our loved ones.

And this past Thursday I had my youngest daughter pick me up so I could spend time with her and my grandchildren at their house. Now that the Virus issues are toning down over here we are trying to get back to some normalcy once again. The best part of the day was the time I spent catching up on all the hugs and kisses I have been missing. My granddaughter colored another picture for me to hang on my bedroom wall of fame. She will be in 2nd grade this Fall and my oldest daughter will be her Teacher. They both are so excited about this.

It's been a little rough these past couple of weeks...but God has brought the blessings too and I thank Him for that.

I pray that God will look after you both. I'm so sorry that you have these things to deal with. Sometimes I can understand what God sees in us by the way things like this make me feel. I often wish I could take on the pain and heartbreak for everyone in the world so they wouldn't have to suffer with it. I sit there and think...this must be how Jesus felt when he came to hang on that cross to save us. And look at how we've repaid him. :(
But that's another matter. I pray God will touch you both with his loving hands and create healing in you both.

Thank you Marci. God is taking wonderful care of both of us and there are so many blessings among any suffering we may be going through. God is so good to His children.
