If the residents finally found out that their breakfast was being shipped in from China, then it would indeed be crap table and the reason for the masses to partake of the meal somewhere else.

Thanks! I can imagine even if they ate earlier that it would be nice to hang around and drink coffee and socialize. I am surprised that so many are still holed up in their apartments in fear of covid.

They do a great job of accommodating your requests. You can order anything you want for breakfast and as much as you want. French Toast. Eggs. Omeletes. Hot Cakes, Cereals.Juices. Danish. Lunches and Dinner always offer two Entrees but you can substitute and ask for soup and a grilled ham & cheese or cheeseburger,
fish & chips. Seconds are always available or switching veggies. OK sure--we residents are paying for all this you say but it's been good value.

Residents at other facilities who are only offered limited choices and limited quantities are paying for it as well, Lon. I wouldn't know why anyone would point that fact out in your specific case...none of it is free.

I'm glad you've found a well-run place that feels like "home." For a brief period my mother was in one of the premier and well-respected dementia facilities outside of DC. My sister was spending lots of time in the facility with her. My mother had a roommate. Both of them were on on a cocktail of medicines. One day an orderly walks in with a tray full of pills, goes up to my mother's roommate, and says "Time for your medication, Mrs. Brunner." Had my sister not been there, the other woman would have been taking a bunch of stuff that was not prescribed for her, AND she would have not received her own meds. Of course, that stuff happens all of the time, and likely happened to my mother when no one was present to manage it.

Just because one spends a lot of money does not mean that they get quality service or care.
And just because one receives value does not mean that they are paying premium dollars.

Some residents have cats like me and a couple with dogs, several with gold fish and the attached picture of John with his pet parrot called Nancy.

And, the point of your thread? Actually, Lon, this letter isn't really giving a reason for the turnover, other than to say "pursue other opportunities. Pursuing other opportunities can be true about some, but in general, there can be a more definite reason.

The resident has been removed and all Care Workers screened. All new hires to be tested.

Wasn’t everyone in your facility and all of the staff just recently vaccinated for covid ? If people are still getting sick, what good did the vaccinations do ?

So evidentially some staffer in memory care forgot to vaccinate a patient in memory care. Either a staffer is Very forgetful or didn’t do his or her job or the vaccinations do not work the way the incredible Dr. Fauci said.

Or are we going to hear once again that the vaccination merely make having the virus easier than it would be without having one’s DNA messed with?

Folks, vaccination does not prevent one from getting (or transmitting) The Virus. It merely reduces the severity of the illness...or so we're told. I guess there's no real way to test how sick any individual would have been without the vaccine. But it does not prevent illness.

Kinda makes one wonder why they call it a vaccine. Just as it makes one wonder why being vaccinated means you get to take your "it protects everyone else" mask off. The Vaccinated can still transmit it. Sounds more like a reward than sound health advice.
