We probably won't do anything special for the 4th. In the past we went to fireworks displays and enjoyed a day off from work. I look at it as America's birthday-- so in that way I will always feel that July 4 is special because in spite of Her blemishes, there's no place on earth I'd rather be.

Usually, Millinocket has a parade but they're not doing it this year. I think they probably found out from Dr. Fauci that parades cause COVID-19 or something but, more likely, they became aware, from last year, that it's cheaper not to. It's not like our taxes are reduced. When they canceled it last year, the townspeople had their own parade, but it was mostly just cars and honking horns. I don't think anyone is doing anything this year. The great reset means that we pay more and expect less, except for the elite, who pay less and get everything. Probably, I won't do anything on July 4th that I didn't do on July 3rd.

What an arrogant belittling attitude. You seem to think anyone that has an opposing opinion to yours about the government is putting it down. Who are people like me? Please explain? I have made it clear what needs to be done and it isn't blind submission. People need to protest instead of having a party. Again you don't read with any understanding and can't wait to reply and boast about how flying a flag and your Navy vet status makes you a patriot. Patriotism isn't granted for past actions (unless you died from those actions), but rather a lifetime of commitment to keeping the USA free. I honor anyone that served until they stand by blindly and submit to freedoms being taken.

I never said you were bad. I said you accept whatever the government tells you to accept as do many people and that is why we lost so many freedoms and now our country is controlled by wealthy self-serving tyrants that sold us out to China.

It’s those doggone tubas. They have such a large bell on them they are surely responsible for the spread of something if only the player’s breath which, could be laced with the virus. And I believe they have at least 2 spit valves and lord knows what is contained in spit.

If they just delete the tubas then all would be well but that would possibly be grounds for some sort of discrimination suit so yeah, forget the parade folks. Nothing to see here. Wouldn’t want the town burned down over some distraught tuba player.

We'd still be British with that attitude. That's the attitude of a Tory.

If you burned the town down, they would leave you alone. Apparently, arson prevents COVID.

And sadly, that statement is on topic with lost freedoms.

Another important point is that there is a big difference between running down your country and running down your government. The country is the people and the government was once the elected representatives. I love my country but despise the coup that took power by fraud. The people no longer have representatives that work for them.

One thing I'm very, very glad of...........this is your opinion and definitely not my wife's or her brothers. Like I've already stated, Faye, your freedom hasn't been taken. You can drive state-to-state without showing any kind of paperwork. You can see a doctor, without getting approval from the U.S. government. You can go shopping without getting anyone's approval to do so. And, on and on. You still have "freedom of speech", although, if said towards a law enforcement officer or judge in court, you could/would wind up in jail.

So, if you want to protest our government, go ahead and form a group and do it. Just remember, a lot of anti-government protestors end up needing a lawyer after a protest.

As for my area, people are very, very happy. Don't know about your area.

Now, let's all celebrate the 4th by watching our American Flag flown around an arena at a rodeo, watching a terrific fireworks display on tv and enjoying a grilled dinner at home. That's what we will be doing.

No, Cody, you have a false sense of free speech because you parrot whatever the big tech and government-controlled media tell you is a fact. They love you speaking out because it helps promote their agenda. My voice and millions of other patriots have been silenced on Facebook and other forums. We are silenced at public meetings. Look how they silenced President Trump and silenced Parler.

When you watch your rodeo and the flag being trotted around the arena, hear the National Anthem (hopefully you still stand with hand on heart and not take a knee) remember that is all courtesy of the conservative patriotic ranch folks both past and present. Liberals and Democrats want to stop rodeo. Our Democrat governor recently tried to pass a bill to make it illegal in Oregon to raise animals for food. These are just a few of the freedoms that are at risk of being taken. Remember what happened to the folks that tried to protect their property holding guns in a UNTHREATING manner? They were stripped of all their rights. You no longer have the right to protect your property or act in self-defense. Killing someone in self-defense will land you in jail for murder while they release repeat offenders, murderers, and rapists into your community.

And what is this nonsense and babbling about glad it is my opinion and not your wife's or brothers? What the hell does that have to do with anything? How do you know that everyone in your area is very very happy? Back in the 60s and 70s it was a "hippie" area and heavily influenced by California liberalism. Lots of pot smoking and LSD. Remember I was born and raised for the most part in Colorado and know its history very well. One reason I left in my early 20s for Montana was to get away from the big money people and communal pot-dazed hippies that despised cattle ranching that were taking over the state. I am glad your wife agrees with you in everything and worships you, that makes for a peaceful home.

Well, believe it or not, I do believe what you are saying here, in part.

People have been protesting zoo's, the circus, rodeo and how many other things for years upon years. Nurses and school teachers have been protesting about salaries for years, with, basically, nothing done.

There are those in Denver, CO that would love to see the January National Western Stock Show & Rodeo taken out of Denver and put somewhere on the eastern plains, but that just isn't going to happen. Way to many people in Denver love it being right there in Denver. Animal Protesters got their way when Calf Roping was retitled to Tie-Down Roping. However, many rodeo fans and Tie-Down Ropers didn't care, they still competed and fans were in the stands.

It really seems like people protest today over everything, but protesting doesn't seem to change much or anything.

IOW, Faye, you can get pissed off as much as you want to, but will anything every be done about what you are angry about? Hate to say this, but NOPE!

Biden is in the White House to stay for the next 4 years, and after that, you might get Trump back, but just how much of a possibility is that? There were probably plenty of folks that didn't want a woman in the White House as President or Vice, but now there is one. Can't do nothing about that either.

Faye, we aren't living the way we did when Lassie and Rin Tin Tin were on tv, but, in ways, I sure do miss those years.

Unfortunately, we ALL have so many complaints about almost everything, but, in reality, how much will change?

What makes you think I am pissed off or angry? So anyone that disagrees with you or is conservative is angry? You have mentioned this before and it amazes me that you label anyone that sees injustice and exposes it or voices their opinion about it as pissed off and angry.

Just sounds that way, Faye. Just sounds that way. IOW, you may not be, or aren't at all, but your replies indicate that to me. But, of course, I could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong.

Now, do whatever Faye does for 4th of July and have fun doing it.

Sat will be out 4th celebration here we will be having our 1st cook out since the covid mess started. Looking for 30 or so to show up Saturday we will have no fireworks due to fire danger as we had a hayfield burned one time learned then NO MORE, But will get to shoot a few new firearms several friends have new SBR's and Suppressors for them, A neighbor usually shoots his belt fed MG34 in late afternoon every 4th I admit I do very much look forward to it and all the unusual food brought, all bring something. Also flying US and Blue lives matter flags.

Most of my guests are either doctors or law enforcement or in airline security it was not like many had to get tested as most all have been and had the vaccination already they are retested now on 2 week intervals my next is in 2 weeks also, the entire thing of requiring this was all agreed upon but by 2 that will not attend, it sure was no big deal at all, most are also non American born US citizens from all over, we have 2 covered patios and many will stay outside there as usual or to be closer to the pool, just hoping we will not have storms Saturday. Too restrictive we also mentioned/asked that and with the option not to even come see no issues there their choice there. Trained dogs welcomed as always, parents are responsible for watching young'uns, our home is NOT child proofed and will not be changed. No real little ones though coming. Anyone creating a negative will be told to leave as always has been the case 1 time in almost 10 years of it, good record there I think. I cant wait for the foods coming!!!!!!!!!!
Will post a few pictures later of it.
