Well, we definitely give to The Fireman's Boot at Christmas. Other than that, there are those out there that have plenty of money to give. We let them handle most of the giving.

What a thread this has turned into.........donating money, sex, race and religion. LOL

Even though I know most of the local firemen, when they are out collecting for United Way I won't give them a dime. If they are collecting for helping a local family, then I will give everything I can including my time. The gift of time is underrated! Small children especially want your time, not your money.

This is exactly how I have always looked at this, too, @Hoot Crawford . We have donated to a community free clinic here, and also to a dog rescue, and it never even occurred to me what their religious beliefs might be, nor did it matter.
If the organization is actually using the money to help the people or animals that it is supposed to be helping, and not just using it as a way to have nice cars and houses, then that is what is important to me.
I do not think that an organization using religion to get people to donate is right at all, and there are as many religious and political groups that do this as ones that are not religious.

    Abou Ben Adhem
    BY LEIGH HUNT

Abou Ben Adhem (may his tribe increase!)
Awoke one night from a deep dream of peace,

And saw, within the moonlight in his room,
Making it rich, and like a lily in bloom,

An angel writing in a book of gold:—
Exceeding peace had made Ben Adhem bold,

And to the presence in the room he said,
"What writest thou?"—The vision raised its head,

And with a look made of all sweet accord,
Answered, "The names of those who love the Lord."

"And is mine one?" said Abou. "Nay, not so,"
Replied the angel. Abou spoke more low,

But cheerly still; and said, "I pray thee, then,
Write me as one that loves his fellow men."

The angel wrote, and vanished. The next night
It came again with a great wakening light,

And showed the names whom love of God had blest,
And lo! Ben Adhem's name led all the rest.

Two hands working would seem to get more done than two hands folded in prayer.
With all the donations that theist organizations have been given through the years,
and for what may have been deemed worthy causes by them, the world hasn’t been
transformed into a wonderful place yet. Maybe a change would be for the better.
To the best of my knowledge, atheists just do what they feel ought to be done and
they do it without appealing for funds. But if they ever ask, yes, I would help them.

Frankly, and I'm not trying to be rude, but I won't donate to so called "faith-based" organizations. In my observations, they are either engaging in major scams or spiritual blackmail. Of course, plenty of atheists have proven to be con-artists as well. So when considering whether to donate somewhere I look at the stated mission and purpose, the founders and current principals, and the ratio of admin costs to real help provided.

Apparently, the Salvation Army has decided that all white people should apologize for their skin color now, too, and they announced that they are doing this to support the BLM movement.
Since most people believe that NO ONE Should have to apologize for skin color, they are probably already losing a lot of the donations that they were hoping to get for Christmas this year.

@Yvonne Smith .. I can not accept this information from an almost unheard of so call news report.
What constitutes a worthy cause now days ? If Atheists are taking donations for displaced victims of fire, flood, or whatever, I Might would donate to the Cause, not to them. Even if a religious organization is asking for donations, that does not mean it is worthy of the donations. I hope i made sense of this.
At one time we donated to the Wounded Warrior for a few years, until our military daughter informed us that the organization was mis using funds. We stopped, then the national news validated that. I have no idea about the origination now or how it is run. You can trust no organization, regardless of who they are.
