OOOh jeez you're freaking me out lady Chrissy...so many co0incidences in our lives... out of the 4 children my father had with my mother (there's 7 of us in total)...he hated me the most, fortunately I don't look like him, (my brothers and one sister does)...but guess what..? I was BORN on his birthday!!!
Just saw this post, Holly. Yes, we have many similarities in out lives, will probably discover even more as we post on the forum. I really don't know why my father hated me, I gave him no reason whatsoever for him to treat me like he did. Doesn't matter anymore. Only downside was I kept my visits to a minimum, so my kids didn't really have a bond with my mother, their grandmother. That was partly my fault because even as an adult I couldn't stand to be around him.
My mother died before I married, so after I left home and had my own family, I had no need to go anywhere near my father.. he was such an evil man to me, and I was not going to allow him to know my child. Different circumstances for you Chrissy with your mother still alive, but mine wasn't and he was married to someone else, who was just a female version of him, so I kept well away..
It makes me sad when I hear these stories about bad father's, who cause so much damage to their children that they carry the scars for life, and it often affects their adult relationship in a bad way as well.
I started to wonder how many mirrors there are in our house. So,I went around and counted them.....we have 10, including a hand mirror. It always seemed to me, that we had more! When our three Daughters were at home, I couldn't get near a mirror! HA!
Chrissy, could that be why he hated you? I've heard some people hate seeing themselves in their children. They obviously are people who do not like themselves.
I agree Linda, if people don't like us, or even act like they hate us, it's because they are not happy within themselves. They tend to take it out on others I'm sorry that happened to you Chrissy. I have a family that feels that way about me, or at least the way they have treated me seems like they can't stand me, don't accept me.
@Linda Binning, I just saw what you said because Denise just quoted it. Easy to miss some things on here. That's a possibility but I really don't know. I can never think too long about him and his reasons why, it just upsets me too much. I try to forget.
