I dove into retirement head-first with great glee and much satisfaction at 62. At last, I was able to do the traveling I had always wanted to do.

11 years later, I still love being retired.

Oh, there are many times I'd LOVE to be isolated in a forest. Where is the forest?

In N.Florida.But I can't see the darn forest for the trees and vines.lol. I use to keep the vines off most of the trees but just too old to now to get all hot and bothered by the weather.

I was about 3 weeks from my 70th birthday when I retired from being a solopreneur. I had planned to take classes at a local community center, find a book club, make a few cross country drives, attend some retreats. None of that has happened yet due to Covid and a couple health issues that have intensified over the last 18 months. Still, I've found inspirations and motivations a plenty to keep my mind engaged if not my body.

I've never understood the concept of boredom due to not having a job or a pack of people in my face 24/7.

I just noticed I have gotten old too! How did this happen? I am a bum on my little farm. I was bringing a wagon load of retaining wall blocks to my mound system. Last year I loaded them into my car trunk, returning over and over till I got them all home home. They weigh 17 pounds each. Last year I did it in about 20 minutes. I think it took me 20 minutes to bring 10 blocks from the pole building to the mound! And I was exhausted!
But if we don't keep at things we get old and weaker, I think.

Heavens, that doesn't sound old and weak to me! That's admirable.

The point is we have to keep at doing things to keep from being old. I think I have been sitting too much.

I agree ,it seems to be 'use it or lose it' for sure as we age.

I have found that ALL things reduce to a simple level given study......except Calculus!
