If you're a non-believer then I don't imagine that you would. But if you think that there's some form of existence that happens after this earthly one, what do you have plans for to do? Eternity is a long time to have nothing to do, I'd think, so I'm curious as to what types of experiences you'd hope to have then. Then too, maybe it would be called something besides a bucket list, considering that to get there you've already kicked the bucket. I ask only to satisfy my curious nature. My intent is not to offend anyone, believer or non.

Eternity is not a long time as you say. It is NO TIME! (time doesn't exist in eternity, just as time does not exist for God.
So, when one dies, there is no time involved involved. We wake up again in what seems to us fraction of a second.

It is what we do on this earth in this "time frame" that matters what we do in the later life. Only God knows what we will be "doing".

So then, if my hobby here and now is making or collecting watches and clocks, that may not serve me well if I find an afterlife it would seem. But what comes after that "fraction of a second"? Will there be bowling leagues or Bridge Games? God doesn't seem to say much now. Will he be more conversant, do you suppose, in an afterlife? Have you first hand experience with these things? You sound very sure of yourself.

I've never thought of a bucket list in this context. Hmmm......

It's probably helpful to me to not think of an afterlife lasting for eternity. I think of it more as a rest stop between lifetimes where the activities are more about getting clear about what has been learned, what needs to be re-learned next time, and what we choose to plan to experience, with which other souls that maybe we haven't interacted with for a few lifetimes, or with whom we haven't finished certain "missions."

One thing that has to be remembered when such questions arise is that most people, even some of the most staunch theologians, are not thinking in the spirit.
We’re all wired to think in terms that we’re familiar with or as Paul would have said, in the flesh. It’s hard for us to fathom eternity much less timelessness. There are always those who question sexuality not thinking about the fact that procreation will not be necessary and the possibility that riches will probably not be in terms of material wealth since worldly wealth is based on it’s ability to be traded for goods and more wealth.

It’s kinda like the old joke about a rich man who God allowed to bring suitcases of gold to heaven. Whilst the man stood at the gates with his gold, Peter had to ask him why he wanted to bring street pavement to heaven?

Worldly thinking versus thinking in spiritual terms.

I don't even have a Bucket List for this life. There is a hole in my bucket.

Excuse me for the short answer I gave in post 2, I was involved in something and was leaving the house.

Jack, I can’t say for sure what the answer to your question is. There are many scriptures about angels which give some idea of their role as God’s helpers. So to better understand what is done in heaven is to study angels. For Jesus said to the Sadducees that were trying to trap him and asked about 7 brothers who all married the wives of their brothers as they each died. In heaven, who will be her husband?

Jesus replied by telling them that they were mistaken and did not know the scriptures, that in the resurrection “people will neither marry nor be given in marriage. Instead, they will be like the angels in heaven.… “My own interpretation of that is that there is more ecstatic and joyful activities than being married to a woman (I can’t imagine what that is).

Always in the Bible, angels are described as giving worship and praise to God, and serving Him in various ways, sometimes as messengers, sometimes as protectors, and also to strengthen and comfort us in times of hardship and sorrow. They rejoice at God’s wonderful miracles, such as when the earth, stars, planets, moon, sun and universe were created. Job 38:7 says that “When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?”

They are also escorts, such as when Lazurus, the poor man, was escorted to Abraham’s bosum.

They can also act at God’s command to execute judgment upon those who exercise very evil activities, such as what happened at Sodom and Gomorrah. Remember that they warned Lot to escape to Zoar, a city where his life would be spared by God’s destruction of the Sodom. The greatest comfort to me is the promise of God in Psalm 91 that He will give His angels charge over us, to protect and keep us from harm, so that we will not “strike our foot against a stone”.

Yes, that happened to me, if that is your question. When I wrecked on my bicycle and was unconscious, I saw what looked like a large television screen showing the path I was going to take. There were 3 choices: I would continue forward, go into the river and drown, I could go straight and hit a concrete buffer, which would kill me, or I could go for weeds and underbrush to my left and survive. I attributed this to my guardian angel, so somehow, even though unconscious, I did the last option, and it saved my life. I can still see the picture of the large tv screen in my mind. Some may scoff at this, but I know what happened, and for me there is no doubt.

@John Brunner I'm sad knowing that you feel that way but you spoke your truth, as did I.

I've had a few paranormal experiences so I know for a fact there is a spiritual world but then not too much into organized religion.
We need to find something to do though while we are still able. Talking about going down the river this morning so maybe thats a listing.

I'v found that unless someone has one of these experiences they will not believe it and even those who have had them will quesion it.

Anyone who has seen the world under the water where the colors light up and the beauty of the life forms can attest to some what different world.
Sorry not making sense today, hope you get my drift.
