And the other side of the coin, what was the last unkind act that you were a part of?

Were either deserved? Do you have any regrets about either?

Is kindness, or the lack of, a deserved response or merely a given one?

Are you as kind (or not) online as you are offline? Do you think others are?

I’m the same no matter where I’m at.
So far as other folks, I doubt seriously if some of the trolls that I’ve come across here and in other forums would be as bold in person as they are on the net.

Now, to the rest of the questioning, my charitable works or otherwise are between myself the the people involved. It’s a Biblical tenet.

Exactly. Nothing quite so annoying as extolling one's own virtues.

He's been something of a role model, I admit it. He seems naturally curious. I am too!

tsk-tsk Lon. In a thread about nice things one would think you’d take that as a compliment and say something nice.

At a local county fair, I showed a young girl (not a teen yet) how to form a rope loop, hold her extra coils and deliver that loop around a dummy steer horns. She followed exactly what I showed her and put her loop right around the horns. Her dad was very impressed with me and happy that his daughter finally roped the steers horns.

My wife was very happy that I showed the young girl what to do and I was very happy that I did as well.

Yep! There is a big difference between brag and fact.

Amen! Boasting about a charitable deed or deeds is a basic biblical no-no. There are those that gave their lives to save others and while they have achieved the ultimate boast, they aren't around to toot their own horn as my mama would say.

I love a certain amount of attention. One reason I got involved in rodeo. Having my name said, as I entered the "heading" box, gave me a "high", just like showing that young girl how to catch the dummy steer head's horns. I like to brag about rodeo champions that we've met, just like the video of 11-time World Champion Charmayne James loves to showcase her saddles/buckles awards room on YouTube. Very, very impressive!

We’re actually given a choice though.
We can purposely gain attention to ourselves by doing our charitable works before the eyes of men and gain whatever rewards here on earth or….we can do things quietly so as not to gain attention thereby being blessed by the Father Himself and gaining our reward in heaven.

To me, it’s not even a flip of the coin and if it is, both sides have a picture of the Father on it.

Charmayne James doesn't brag to be in the spotlight. Her "showcasing" her saddles and buckles is because she won them through hard work and dedication. Also to be admired is that she is showing her accomplishments, a visual, not talking about them in an arrogant way. There is a difference between fact and brag. Talking about your achievements can be done in a humble way or can be a "look at me and what a great wonderful person I am." There is a difference.
