Okay, I have just ordered one of these from Amazon.com. The price is good, it's attractive, and it will take up less real estate on my coffee counter than the Ninja does. It is supposed to be here on October 4, since nothing ever arrives from Amazon.com in less than a week anymore, despite the fact that I have been a Prime member for years. I will report more on it after it arrives.

Hope you like it. Did you get the red one?

Just for grins, I put one in my cart. It says it will be delivered on Sept. 27. I guess Houston gets faster service. :D (I did not buy it.)

    Yeah.

It's not like they can't provide better service, and the problem isn't on the UPS side of it. Usually, my orders haven't even been shipped yet a week after I placed the order. Once they ship it, it arrives quickly enough.

I really don't get that. Since you are paying for Prime, you should get the same service that any other Prime member gets.

It's been decades since I've used an electric percolator. My Farberware made a great cup of coffee.

Hope you enjoy the new one.

I had a Farberware perc, too. Also a Sunbeam that I wish I still had; it was unique looking.

I ordered one, as well. It is to arrive Monday. It will take up less space, and simplify things!
My Mother would have been shocked to see a red one! Her's was chrome.

Any time I am able to help you to spend money, I am pleased to do my part. On the occasions when I have made coffee on my manual percolator, it seems to taste very good so, although it's been a while since I have had an electric percolator coffeemaker, it seemed like a good idea.

We have hardly used that Bunn I bought before last Christmas. During treatment coffee tasted nasty so I mostly used a k-cup since I often poured it out anyway. Every couple of days I dump a pot of water through the machine to keep the heated water tank topped off. So I "need" a percolator like a hole in my head, but that won't keep me from looking at them anyway. :p

I'll be curious about how long it takes you to get the grind and ratio of coffee/water to suit you. More fodder for the coffee discussion. :D

I liked the K-cups when they first came out because you can't beat the spontaneity factor of making one cup when you want a cup, but I have since come to view K-cup coffee as having a washed-out taste to it, with too few flavors that I like. When I am upstairs, I'll make coffee in the K-cup machine sometimes, but I prefer making a pot of better coffee.

I imagine there will be a difference in the optimal grind and amount to use with the percolator than with the drip coffeemaker.

Some k-cups are definitely nasty, and they are so expensive that it's hard to experiment.

When I make coffee in the stove-top percolator, it takes 3 or 4 pots to get that coffee/water ratio right. I'm sure the electric pot will also take a few tries. Are you going to use a disk filter in the basket or just use a coarser grind?

Since I have been using a coarse grind with my drip coffeemaker, I'll start out with that and see how it works out.

    I see your pot is a 10-cup. I assume that's 10 5-oz cups, so actually a 5-mug pot. :D I'm looking at the smaller ones; probably a 6 or 8 cup.

Most of the percolators don't have auto-off, so you'll have to remember to unplug it or put it on a timer or something.
