The people in Tuskegee thought the medical system were helping them. We have Tuskegee all over again one great medical experiment and everyone is cheering the medical system. Some have woken up

I don't think Frank intended for this thread to be a debate about the evils of the medical and pharmaceutical industries. Let's stick to the topic, please.

Final thoughts? I'm not there yet, even though I can feel the aging process taking place non-stop.

Good news ,I'm glad for you.We have so much to go thru as we age. Some go thru it earlier. I have had lots of pain but basically been blessed not to have more than I can handle but it can be bad when lots happens at the same time.
I hope you continue to improve .

My bible tells me that living my life is like running a race. We don't get to choose where the finish line is. Life is a privilege and a miraculous gift...all of it. We run our best, and finish the race.

I really believe that in time, when we are more knowledgeable, we will be able to cure ourselves of anything that comes our way. Most of us are not there yet but perhaps there are some who are? It probably will not happen to me in this lifetime but I believe in life after life and in the mean time we/I have to make the best of what occurs as we age. And aging can suck sometimes. I keep reminding myself my thoughts do control how I feel so I try to make sure I pay attention to that!

I do not know Martin Alonso but I would not dismiss what he says, precisely because I do not know him. There is so much we do not yet know. For example lizards, geckos can regrow a limb..why can't we?? Again..eventually I think humans will be able to cure themselves of all ills...just probably not in my lifetime.

we just have to look back at all that "crap" we made it thru...years of it....
surely...we can make it a little longer.....
anything we would do to hurry the process on...we'd probably screw it up worse...

To answer the question posed in the opening post, no I never have even had that thought cross my mind. I live in a state where death with dignity is legal but I would never use it. I live with a lot of pain but I plan on living to age 100. Becoming a widow over 50 years ago as the result of suicide, I know what suicide does to loved ones. Lucky for Frank I don't live close or I would go kick his ass for entertaining such an idea.

I think I will go get a spoon and do some gagging! :(

Back to the topic, I for one, am against the deterioration process, but my opposition isn't slowing it down.
