Whether you are searching the forum because you have nothing else to do or you just don't feel like doing it, this thread is for you. What is on your mind? This morning I am spending time here rather than cleaning the house and finishing my yard winterizing. I feel like a slacker. I will get something accomplished today, but only by constant self reminding. I should decide on a time to stop my slacking and get in my taskmistress frame of mind.
Well, Faye, I will say this, you're a very good Ambassador for the Forum, trying to get those that simply look at threads and replies, but that's it, to get them going. It can be unreal how many "views" a thread can get, but very few replies.
Thanks Cody! Yes, getting conversations going is difficult, especially for eccentric live-alone people like me. I find so many things that kept me busy growing up as a single child on a remote Colorado mountain ranch long before the internet, no longer interest me as far as doing these days. I still like to talk about them, but not much interest on my part as far as doing.
I'm the King of Slackers. I even give "Slacker Classes" on how to self-improve (or would it be: How to get worse . . . ?) All I've done so far today is feed the fire, make breakfast, and although it's 55 with bright sun out, I'm stuck on the couch, drinking coffee and watching the Buffalo Bills.
The last tie string bikini I wore was when I was 17 and posed with my Duo-Sonic Fender guitar for a Fender ad. I used to wear the skimpy sports compression-type string bikinis while playing beach volleyball and windsurfing. I gave up string bikini-wearing at age 68 by popular request. Now my bikinis have no strings attached.
Oh dear Brucie you slacker you, about the same here but watching the PBR Finals. I have the vacuum and mop out ready, but I cannot get a grip on their slim handles.
I actually tossed a load of clothes into the "warsh" earlier. I'll keep putting time on the dryer because... slacker. No NFL noise allowed in the house since the highly-compensated jackasses decided kneeling was not for running out the clock any longer. So I have QVC on as background noise while I hit-and-run on a couple of forums.
I got away from most of it last year for that reason, but caved this year cuz the Bills are hot. FWIW: I spend ZERO money on the NFL: No garb, no TV subs -- only have OTA, I've been to no stadiums since around 2000. So they gain nothing from me. I cannot recall buying anything I've seen advertised on TV no matter what I was watching -- certainly nothing while watching the NFL. I see it like I see having a credit card: I have a card for MY benefit, not theirs. I always pay it off, never paid any interest in my life. So I watch free NFL games but give them ZERO in return. We Slackers are experts in justifying any of our decisions.
Just because you read something, does not mean you have to make a response. Sometimes to say nothing is the best option.
I know a few people IRL who think it's a good thing to blurt out whatever happens to be in their mind. "Hey, at least you know where I stand." Well yes, but is that always a good thing? The old saying always comes back to me: "Some things are better left unsaid."
Uh-uh, not buying. You are raising their TV ratings simply by tuning in. Tsk. My husband has been a Cowboys fan FOR-EVAR! I never thought he'd be able to turn them off, but he did so without so much as a wistful glance back. He does watch college games, though. It brightens his day to hear "F*ck Joe Biden!" (Or "let's go Brandon" if you're a lefty.)
How do they know that the TV signal in the air all around me is picked up by my TV or not? How do they know if my TV is on? Not supporting left-wing politics by watching college FB: Would these be the same colleges (essentially all of them) that churn out a new army of Marxists every year?
