Besides disagreeing with the premise, your facts are erroneous. An AR-15 is not a military weapon, for one thing, and he didn't transport it across state lines.

Jacob Blake in Wisconsin last summer, made his first in-person court appearance Friday.

There was increased security for the 18-year-old’s brief, final pre-trial hearing. It was his first time in person as most of his legal proceedings during the pandemic have been virtual.

Attorneys and prosecutors went over scheduling details in anticipation of Rittenhouse’s November trial. They agreed on a deadline for motions on July 1, jury questionnaires by August 1, and the next motion hearing was set for September 17.

Lawyers on both sides said the trial will take about two weeks.

Online court records Friday revealed Rittenhouse retained another attorney in the case, Corey Chirafisi.

Rittenhouse, was 17 when he left his hometown of Antioch, Illinois, for nearby Kenosha, Wisconsin, 21 miles away, and allegedly shot and killed two protesters and wounded a third on Aug. 25.
I agree that the AR15 isn't military. My bad. It's a semi automatic built to kill people. I guess that every 17 year old should have one.
Oh yeah...Mustn't neglect the girls; I've read that hand guns come in colors to match every clothing.

An AR-15 is nothing more than a spruced up light-weight rifle which for the most part are owned by hunters. It’s primary purpose is for hunting and personal protection and nothing more.
I happen to own a shotgun and at close range I’ll take the shotgun over an AR-15 any time albeit shotguns are also used for hunting and sport shooting like skeet.
I also own a baseball bat and several knives of many shapes and sizes and I would take any of those over a shot gun at VERY close range to yes, defend myself.

Only military grade weapons are specifically made to kill people and an AR-15 is not a military grade weapon. If someone would have handed me one of those whilst I was in the Nam I would have thrown it away and started carrying that heavy M-14 again.

I saw a thing that some gun guys put on and they showed some anti-gunners a 10-22 as both a regular rifle and dressed up as an AR-15 and asked folks randomly to choose which, if any, was an assault rifle. They almost always chose the dressed-up version even though they were the same rifle with different stocks. I understood from some of the testimony that Kyle did not transport the rifle but that it was supplied by a "militia" member in Wisconsin, but I have no idea if it is true.

    Exactly!

Underage is underage, and a gun's a gun! By crossing state lines to participate in a chaotic event for which he was totally unprepared mentally and emotionally, Kyle showed typical adolescent recklessness and lack of impulse control.

It's like he took the family car and crashed it while imitating something he saw in a movie, and people died because of his stunt! Saying he should just 'go free' is total nonsense.

He only discharged the gun in self-defense when being beaten over the head with a skateboard. It wouldn't have even been news if he had been unarmed and beaten to death by that rioter with a skateboard. I suppose you think the rioters were prepared both mentally and emotionally for the EVENT that was based on false information and a narrative created just to incite violence against business owners and cause great destruction of property and the community.

I found it interesting that the prosecution more than once made comments to the effect that Kyle had no business being there, yet apparently the rioters were serving a noble purpose.

There are a lot of folks who somehow sympathize with the rioters and their “publicized” reasoning for doing what they did.
Firstly, it wasn’t about police brutality but just a bunch of hoodlums wanting to get away with ransacking businesses and stealing whatever they could the same as they did in Ferguson. Remember? Black rioters burning and ransacking black businesses?

I’m still on board with the main fact that although lives were lost which I totally hate, no one else was out there trying to do anything about their city being torn apart and for no real and truthful substantial reason.
And to be real about it, the idea that Kyle crossed the border is out there but no one is saying a derned word about how many rioters were from out of state, what the ages were and how many were carrying weapons whether they were firearms or a club.

All three of the men were at the riot and had also been at some of the other BLM riots possibly, since there were affiliations with the BLM groups. They were all adults with criminal records in Wisconsin, and some with criminal records in other states as well.
All had attacked teenage Kyle before he defended his life, and when they did so, Kyle was trying desperately to run away and get to the police for help.

The fact remains that of all the armed people there, on both sides of the tumult, only Kyle found himself in a situation where he felt threatened enough to shoot and kill anyone.

He's a kid who overestimated his own competence and maturity, and recklessly entered a volatile situation that proved to be more than he could deal with, And that recklessness cost two people their lives.

I agree that it seems wrong to put that kid in prison for murder. But it makes equally little sense to say that he should just 'go free,' without being held accountable for his decisions.

The jury has been allowed to consider 'lesser charges.' Nothing to do now but wait and see what they decide.

And WHY for the love of Pete, do we keep hearing the lie that he crossed a state line with that gun? The gun was bought, registered, and stored in Wisconsin. No one has any evidence, not one microscopic shred that that gun ever crossed a state line.

The repetition of false statements doesn't make them facts.

So if someone is trying to kill me, I have to wait until someone else shoots someone before I can defend myself?

Having watched the video, I would say that he did pretty darned well. Had he not done so, he would probably be dead and the Kenosha prosecutor would refuse to prosecute his killer since rioters are rarely charged with the crimes they commit unless they're on the other side of the political aisle.

He crossed a state line, but not with the gun, and the state line wasn't far from his home, from what I understand. I grew up in Michigan, about ten miles from the Wisconsin line and I never once considered that I would need permission or a passport to cross the bridge into Wisconsin. Marinette, Wisconsin was local to me. In high school, some of my best friends lived in Marinette. In fact, I was born in Marinette because my parents preferred that hospital to the one on the other side of the bridge, in Menominee, Michigan.

When they never arrested and charged the many that shot police and innocent business owners point-blank or beat old veterans walking with canes, sprayed old people in the face with bear spray, permanently blinded Federal officers with laser lights, then don't cry about he was guilty of something and should be charged with manslaughter or something. He should be given a medal for exercising his constitutional right to bear arms and defend himself against DOMESTIC enemies that want to overthrow this country. He had every right to protest the anti-American activities and remove their graffiti. There was nothing racist, no connection to any white supremacy group, no organized militant effort, he didn't cross state lines with the gun, he didn't have a manifesto, he never threatened anyone with the gun, he was fleeing those chasing him, etc., but yet I hear this false hate speech spouted every day as if it is fact.

    There was no RECKLESSNESS!
