Up until now, because of weakened arm and shoulder strength due to arthritis, I was unable to stand up from lying on my chase lounge without assistance from another adult. Today, I asked my caregiver (who is a large, strong woman) to stand by me while I tried to lie down and get up unassisted from a reclining position on my backyard chaise lounge. I was able to get up with very little strain! I feel good about this! Now I can lie in the backyard and get some Vitamin D from the Sun! Harold
I'm probably in better shape and likely younger than you Hal, but I get it. I had to use both hands to squeeze the toothpaste out for months because of arthritic pain, so I bought a thingy with a wind-up key on the side to do it. As of a couple months ago, I no longer need it. What we take for granted when young . . .
