Funny, I never gave thought to it being Firefox that made these suggestions. But in hindsight, the manner in which they are suggested is uniform.

The failures I've had so far is that some websites require symbols while others do not permit them, so Firefox chose to not include them. It's easy enough to add one.

I've been hesitant to use a password manager. To me, aggregating them in one spot makes it risky...one theft and all those accounts are compromised.

I have even had problems on SOC.
First it says i have to log in again. Then says I can't because I don't allow cookies. then I go and make sure to allow cookies which it then says I did not....

Browsers lock down security so tightly because of the bad actors out there it's a wonder anything works right. I had problems with the weekly ad from my local grocery store not opening up until I found the secret control to disable. Last night I signed up for Goodwill's auction site, and the control that refreshes "Time Remaining" does not work. I'm certain it's a security setting somewhere.

I've yet to have issues on this site. But when you get updates to web servers, to web site software, to your computer's operating system and then to your browser, unforeseeable compatibility issues arise.

He who steals my passwords steals trash. I don’t use the internet for anything other than info and entertainment. I don’t do any banking online and whenever I use a credit card I rely on the website's encryption. I may only be responsible for up to $50 anyway. My Yahoo mail password is a yard long and I change it monthly and even the email I get is of no great significance.

I had a friend who used a password manager, but when she went through a nasty divorce, she discovered her husband had installed spyware on her laptop, so he could access her password manager remotely and could get into all her files. She didn't discover it for a while, but dumped the laptop when she found the spyware. I suspect the same could b done by bad actors remotely through a trojan or whatever. She was pretty savvy, but her husband was an electrical engineer and knew computer software inside out.
@John Brunner I have the same misgivings. I try to keep all my important passwords physically on a piece of paper. At least the a malefactor would have to be physically in my house to access the entire list.

I don't understand the small-minded vindictiveness of some people, although I've encountered a few.

I keep my passwords on a removable USB stick along with the answers to the Security Questions. I worry more about having someone elses website hacked to get my personal data than I worry about my own laptop being compromised. I also pay for a landline I never use so I have that phone# (and not my cell) to enter on forms, and never answer the same Security Question the same way twice, nor do I ever use real data (my high school, mother's maiden name, first pet's name, etc. are all fictitious and unique on each website that asks for them.)

I guess you can only do but so much if you're gonna connect to the world wide.

Mary, have you tried clearing your cache and cookies? That helped when I was having difficulty with this site.

Not wanting a rant but merely a short comment, a fun Friday comment. As in, we have now found out we can convict an occasional
cop for unnecessarily killing a black man and we may be learning white men can be convicted for killing black
men for sport, maybe it is time to start charging parents for buying hand guns for their young children. Just a thought. The big court has ruled and guns are the law of the land as it has been but there is more ways than
    one to skin a law.

I am against writing new hate crime laws. We don't need them. The Constitution and the present laws need only to be read and enforced. They apply to EVERYONE. and with body cams and phones it is easier even against police.
Black guns Matter is a good cause. Hundereds of blacks are shot almost daily in Chicago by blacks! Why do the mayors allow this, making the police stand down? To eventually get cities so bad that martial law is required. IMHO
Bill, I agree with you. Young children should be supervised where guns are concerned. They should take gun safety classes as should adults and parents should be responsible.
But I am very much for the 2nd Amendment! I have mine where I can get at it quickly when others don't know where it is. I have no small children in my house. if I did, would have to rethink things . It is a little annoying I have to unload when I need to run to the farm, minutes away.

In the news today the prosecutor in the Michigan school shooting is going to charge the parents with unintentional homicide because they gave their son the Sig-Sauer pistol.
