When one of my students came to me with "bad opinions" from the counselors I said to them: "Do you agree with them? How many times a person said something and later was proven wrong? Go with your feelings and if you succeed enjoy your achievements. In case you don't succeed, find where did you err and make the necessary corrections.""
If I am told that I can't do something, that is when I get contrary and prove them wrong. (Mary quite contrary?) My French teacher told me that although my accent was good, I would not pass the course. I got a 96 out of 100 on the state exam which made me good enough to pass. But all I can remember in French is not very much and I can't spell!
