And there is a 2 year backlog of patients who stayed away due to COVID, and their conditions have deteriorated in that time period.

So you have 24 months of pent-up routine demand suffering from delayed care that is hitting an understaffed system...and the media says "COVID."

Isn't it wonderful when government gets involved in businesses and fixes problems?

Despite its conservative rhetoric, Texas required flu vaccines of EMS personnel (and I would assume hospital personnel) years ago, while Bush was governor. After getting sick from the flu vaccine, I never repeated it and since I was the one submitting the paperwork, I got away with it. By then, I was mostly in the office, anyhow.

You could do that, but the real data would be found among long-term residents in an area that experienced above-average temps for a period of time. But we both know what the data would show. This is getting beyond insane. Maybe that's the point...to overwhelm us with irrationality.

I read stories of people getting lung disease after receiving the vax and came across an NIH article on it. The above title links to a report on the condition from the National Institute of Health.

One of the women who was a co-founder of the recovery center that my wife is running developed severe nerve problems after getting the COVID vaccine, the second dose if I remember correctly. I have mentioned that earlier in this thread, or in another, but she has recently been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and is severely disabled.

MS is a potentially disabling disease of the brain and spinal cord. The cause of MS is unknown, but it is considered to be an auto-immune disease in which the body's immune system attacks its own tissues, harming the fatty substance that coats and protects nerve fibers in the brain and spinal cord. She had no such symptoms prior to immunization but was required to get the vaccine because she was employed by a nursing home. Disabled, she is no longer employed anywhere, nor is she likely to ever be employed anywhere again.

I just talked to my normal sister and my whole family will be at her place Saturday, as usual. Well, except for my ultra-liberal sister and her husband. They will be hiding under their bed as they have been doing since March 2020. They are both 74 and have missed the last two years of their life -- with no end in sight.

And to make it even more ridiculous, their 50 year-old daughter and 18 year-old grandson WILL be joining us for Christmas.

"There is more to life than trying to avoid Covid."

It is beyond evil. There are so many individuals and institutions that literally have blood on their hands, it overwhelms the conscience...yet they have none.

I wondered when you said you were making a liquor store run. I'm reading lots of similar stories.

We have opined over how we now understand how "good Germans" could do nothing when Hitler did his thing. I'm now reading first-person accounts of understanding how the Civil War turned brother against brother and parent against child. There is a large part of me that is furious at this intended attack on "Family" as yet another institution to be destroyed. The other part of me thinks that this has merely exacerbated existing fractures in relationships and institutions.

Yes, the family as well as the Church is a target for destruction. That was one of the items included in the "Build Back Better" bill that has apparently died in Congress. The government was to take over many of the functions of parents in raising children. You saw bits of that in the controversy over school boards and what was being included in the public school curricula. Some of those government officials, I believe including your governor, stated that parents had no say in what was to be taught to their children. That was just a hint of what they intend to foist upon our children, grandchildren and families.

Yep, the left hates the biological family structure, always has. In recent history, remember Hillary and "It takes a village . . . "?

Encourage homosexuality, murder the unborn to "liberate" women, encourage women to work and let someone else (the state) raise their kids, make divorce easy, we've seen ALL of this just in our lifetimes. A society is much easier to control when there is no family bond, especially if people are dependent upon the government instead of family, friends, and community.

Here's the next step in dividing parents from their kids. I saw this on Twitter yesterday, thread here: https://twitter.com/realchrisrufo/status/1474158665422671873

More than 90 percent of Omicron cases in Denmark are vaccinated, shocking data reveals

79 percent of Danes infected with Omicron by December 15 were fully jabbed, according to a report released Tuesday by the Statens Serum Institute (SSI), a Danish health ministry that tracks COVID-19 variants. The double-vaccinated accounted for more than 14,000 of 17,767 Omicron infections recorded in Denmark since the country’s first reported case on November 22.

I had a discussion about vaccines not working with someone who was waiting in line with me at the DMV (to update driver's license to "real ID" status) on Wednesday PM. Said person, an acknowledged liberal, just couldn't believe the government would advocate something that wasn't effective. Had he not been such a nice guy, I would have labeled him a dumbass; however, let's just say he was the epitome of naive.

I was talking to a woman the other day who started going off on "...the 1,000,000 people who are dead [from COVID]," and when I replied with "Sure, terminal cancer patients and decapitated accident victims and..." she immediately interrupted me with "No no no no no no no!!!!" Then she called me an anti-vaxxer. So ended another "Plunging the depths of the Liberal intellect and only getting my ankles wet" conversation.

Conversely, I was at a grocery store in Charlottesville yesterday (liberal university town) and got in line when I noticed a woman standing to my right. I apologized if I unintentionally jumped in front of her, and started to back up so as to let her merge in. I only had a couple of items, so she let me go and walked past to get in a different line, wishing me "Merry Christmas" as she passed. (We were among the unmasked minority.) I wished her one back and we chatted a little bit about this being a "unique" season. As she walked away, she smiled at me and said "Let's Go, Brandon!"

Vive la resistance! And in Charlottesville, no less.
